Adventure, this is a term that is a little far away from urbanites. Few people can understand the nature of this behavior, very few people can know its meaning in this world, and very few people can say its true value.
This movie is actually a memo to explorers. How do we understand this story that tells the story of the destruction of the six Sambo during a cave exploration?
So first of all, we must find out the cause of the accident. Why did they come? What did they prepare and what got them killed.
Obviously, the inhabitants of the cave (those who look like Gollum from The Lord of the Rings) seem to be the murderers in this case.
However, if you look closely, you can find that these reptiles are not very capable of fighting. First of all, they are almost completely blind in terms of vision, that is, when there is a searchlight, humans have an advantage in vision. Secondly, although they rely on hearing to identify positions, they are not the same as bats. They do not have ultrasonic waves that allow them to directly feel the range of the entire area, so their hearing cannot completely replace vision.
In addition, their fighting power can only be regarded as ordinary. Although they have sharp claws and teeth like scalpels (extremely unscientific), they are not superior to ordinary adult women in terms of speed, strength and reflexes. .
The creatures look surreal, yet fight even worse than the beasts, and they don't seem to pass the mark as the main character of a monster movie (which isn't actually).
So why did the director deliberately weaken them to such an extent in the setting?
Because they are just a symbol of the power of nature, the products of human beings who are embodied because of fear, and they are no different from those mountain men, water monsters, and snow women in folk tales.
They are a representation of the risks in the adventures of the film.
So they only appear when the group makes the wrong move, which means that these six women died from mistakes in risk assessment and management, rather than being poisoned by otherworldly monsters.
The first appearance of this monster is when the heroine Sarah is attracted by a strange voice and travels alone to a dark and unknown cave. At the same time, everyone was so busy because the short-haired girl broke her leg that they didn't have time to take care of him. Going alone when no one knows for sure is the number one taboo of expedition.
The second time it appeared, when everyone panicked because of the sound, so someone acted without authorization, this time it killed the short-haired woman. And indirectly caused Juno to hack Beth to death, and buried the foreshadowing of Sarah's distrust of her later.
Afterwards, Sarah, who was running around, fell into the hole and saw that they devoured the body of the short-haired girl, while Robecca and Sam, who were lost during the search for their partner, met the monster again. Juno arrived at the right time and killed the monster. .
However, she made another wrong decision. Knowing how to escape, he chose to find Sarah, whose life and death were uncertain, instead of helping other teammates to escape and seek support, so the tragedy of the final chapter was unavoidable.
And the only female monster in this play came out at a very clever time. Sarah deepened her suspicions of Juno after learning from Beth about the circumstances of her murder, and at the latter's request, ended her life. This is the moment when Sarah's personality completely changes, so in the following battle, she kills the female monster, and her mortal nature is dead at that moment.
In panic, Sam decided to go back the same way, but she did not have enough equipment, and the road had long been impassable because of the collapse. Her wrong move also summoned the arrival of monsters, so two people died in this attack.
In the last crisis, Sarah and Juno were not completely candid with each other in their conversations. The former used probing questions to confirm the answer, and the latter only answered partial facts. So, Sarah cut off Juno's leg, and the suspicion and hurt between the partners attracted all the monsters, and the play ended.
Who is responsible for this action? In all expeditions, the leader has the most power and responsibility, and also gets the most honors after success, so it is a matter of course that he should take the most responsibility for failures.
Juno, out of selfishness (desiring to have the right to name the cave, and alleviating his guilt for Sarah), hid the entire team and took everyone to another cave where no humans had gone, without telling anyone on the ground. This cuts off the possibility of outside search and rescue in the event of an accident.
At the same time, she obviously couldn't have a good grasp of the physical and mental conditions of the team members, so she actually let a potential patient with a very unstable mental state go directly into the claustrophobic space to explore. And the short-haired girl's repeatedly out of control her own way also shows that her ability to command and dominate a team is insufficient.
Bad decision-making by the leader, and mishandling of the team in the face of a crisis, killed everyone, not the monster.
There is nothing in that bottomless cave, monsters only exist in the hearts of human beings. It will appear during the expedition, but it is not invincible.
Let's retell the story in another way: Juno owes Sarah, and wants to help a friend out of the haze through an outdoor caving activity. Originally, the six decided to go to a cave with a map guide, but Juno wanted to try another cave that no one had walked through. She also thought that it would be more meaningful to name the cave, so she and everyone assessed the risk, and persuaded people.
Before leaving, Juno did not forget to explain the ins and outs of the itinerary to a friend he believed deeply, and told her that if there was no news within a certain period of time, he would ask him to help call the police. After entering the cave, everyone was trapped due to the collapse. But everyone believed in Juno's leadership. They calmed down and thought about the way to escape. Finally, they successfully waited for rescue and returned to the ground.
Although the process was very thrilling, no one was injured in the end, and because of this special experience, their friendship with each other deepened, and Juno and Sarah also untied their hearts.
The monster did not appear.
The end of the play.
