Among David Lean's epic works, he likes this film more than Lawrence of Arabia. The whole film revolves around the theme of anti-war, successfully showing the audience the twisted human side of war, and the angle is very unique. The rhythm of the film is also more compact, every shot in the film is very atmospheric, the performances of the actors are all master-level, and the closing words at the end of the film are short and concise. Watching a movie like this, you'll forget his era, it's a true classic.
