The Great Dictator is a film directed by Charlie Chaplin and starring Pauline Gaudí, which premiered in 1940. This is Charlie Chaplin's first sound film. The film uses the background of World War II to portray a great dictator who brutally persecuted Jews and attempted to rule the world. Chaplin obviously imitated Hitler, the fascist leader, in character modeling, and performed a biting satire on this character through performances. In 1997, the film was listed as a "Culturally, Historically, and Artistically Significant Film" by the National Film Registry of the U.S. Library of Congress.
I watched it when I was a child and thought it was very good. After checking it, it turned out that it was Chaplin's first sound film!
