Planet of the Apes 2001: Alien Savior

Tim Burton's "Planet of the Apes" series. An unsuccessful remake.

A far cry from the original storyline. It just borrowed a core of the original - apes rule the planet, and humans become slaves. Other major deletions. The profound social and political meaning that the original work was meant to embody was completely removed. Be a complete commercial film.

If you want to make a commercial film, you can make it look good. However, this film is not good at all, it can be said that it is rather ugly.

There are no big special effects, no big scenes, and no large-scale battles. Fifty percent of the entire film is dark, either in a dark jungle, in a dark cave, or in a spooky prison. Large paragraphs of dialogue, so long-winded. Looking at the army of the apes, I think of ancient Chinese war movies, such as "Red Cliff", "Mulan" and so on. How does this look like a big Hollywood production?

The film still left suspense at the end, paving the way for the sequel. But this suspense is too blunt and too confusing. Anyway, I didn't get it.

Good subject matter, let Tim Burton make it like this, it's a pity...
