"The Catastrophe of Skyrim" can be classified as a bad film if it is only superficially seen. However, if you understand the metaphor, it is a very interesting thing.

The protagonist in the story, Jerod was originally a painter. He was approached by his friend Terry in the entertainment industry to Los Angeles. He wanted him to help produce computer animation. He also said that he had just made a fortune from "Robot Smash Bros." Jerod said: I don't understand computers. Terry said: It doesn't matter, the computer is just a tool.
Here, it is implied that the two protagonists in the movie are the incarnations of the director brothers. "Robot Brawl" refers to "Transformers 2" in which they participated in the production of special effects.

At Terry's birthday party, people were drunk and paralyzed at night, and some took drugs. In the night they were suddenly awakened by a blue light, and aliens invaded.
The stories that happened from here on can actually be regarded as the protagonist’s drunken dream sensation at the dinner party.

Aliens use blue light as a weapon. As long as people see blue light, they will be sucked out of their brains and become their vassals. The alien spacecraft is powered by the human brain. The U.S. military fought back and once shot down the alien mothership with a nuclear bomb. However, the aliens were resurrected in situ, and the U.S. military was defeated, and the earth eventually fell.
The meaning expressed here is that, in the eyes of American audiences, Japan invented the Blu-ray Blu-ray DVD format to invade the United States. Although Japan was once defeated by the US military’s nuclear bombs, Japan was resurrected in situ in the 21st century and invaded the United States using the Blu-ray DVD format. Although the audience was not happy at first, everyone who had watched Blu-ray DVD was attracted to the world. Occupied under the Japanese Blu-ray technology.
And to emphasize that this is a metaphor for the Japanese Blu-ray invasion, the name of the first person who was sucked away by the alien "Blue light" is called "Ray". In addition, a Japanese Kamikaze-themed poster was specially hung on the wall of Terry's house, and multiple shots were emphasized.

Although Terry said that "the computer is just a tool", the computer at Terry's home is obviously more than that. His mansion is completely computerized, and even the curtains are drawn by a computer. He also sets the time for the curtains: when the day arrives, the curtains are automatically drawn. This is usually convenient, but this time the alien is outside the window, and the computer that automatically draws the curtain has become an accomplice of the enemy.
This is probably the expression of the director brothers' attitude towards computer stunts.

Jarrod: We have to let them know we're here!

Oliver: We'll let everything know we're here!

Jarrod: Help is here! Don't you see? We need to go up to the roof and be rescued!

Oliver: Does that look like a rescue chopper? Don't you get it? We are at war!

  • Oliver: All right. Let's say we make it out of the building... across the marina, down the docks, we even find your friend's boat and everything. Then what?

Jarrod: We get the hell away from here!

Oliver: Where to? Catalina? Down the coast?

Jarrod: Anywhere but here! Any place is better than staying here!

Oliver: How do you know? How do you know those things will not follow us? How do you know this isn't happening all over the world? We're safe here. We're here! We're alive!
