I haven't read the original book or the previous version of the movie. Before watching this movie, my understanding of Romeo and Juliet's love came from other people's introduction to the hero and heroine in the original book, which can be summed up in two words "brave" ,loyalty".
After watching the film today, my feeling about the love between the male and female protagonists is "impulsive", not as "poor and beautiful" as others have described before. I laughed at myself maybe because I was too rational. It seems that after reading other people's film reviews, I found that this film did not exaggerate the "courage of male and female protagonists to resist family forces", and did not highlight the fate-style tragedy. On the contrary, some parts felt a bit like a farce.
"Romeo and Juliet" is a Shakespeare classic, maybe when I read the original book or saw the 1968 version of the film, I will have a new understanding.
