Highlights I see

1. Scientists really do this: After acquiring superpowers, the first thing to do is to expand the laboratory, carry out multiple directions in parallel, and do experiments day and night. After 2 years, the results have been very fruitful, which is really gratifying.

2. New ideas for AI. Building AI cannot be simulated, but replicated in its entirety.

3. Future technology calls for young people to join. The technology depicted in the film is dazzling. I sincerely hope that young people who watch the film will always keep their pure vision, exclude other film critics' "rigorous" criticism of the film, and join the cause of scientific research.

4. Motivate people to go beyond themselves. The film made me reflect on goals: graduation, job, house. There are people in the world who set their goals higher: to improve the world.

5. THE END OF THE MOVIE BEYOND. A common dilemma in a film like this, where the protagonist gains superpowers through misfortune, is to highlight the superpowers in order to shock the audience's senses, and at the same time have to let it fail reasonably at the end. And in addition to being reasonable, there must be a certain sublimation of the theme. This film provides an excellent answer to this conundrum. The theme at the end: love. His practice of worrying about the world is actually to achieve the ideal of the heroine's goodwill: to change the world. In order to regain the trust and love of the male protagonist, he took the initiative to sacrifice himself. The surprise in the plot and the improvement in the theme were achieved.

6. The flaws do not hide the beauty or is a fish ruined in a pot of soup? The visual effects are exquisite, the layout is rigorous, and the plot is ups and downs. Although some details still need to be scrutinized, in my opinion this film is a sincere work by the director.

Transcendence quotes

  • Max Waters: I spent my life trying to reduce the brain to a series of electrical impulses. I failed. Human emotion, it can contain illogical conflict. Can love someone, and yet hate the things that they've done. Machine can't reconcile that.

    Evelyn Caster: Can you?

    Max Waters: Yes.

  • [first lines]

Max Waters: They say there's power in Boston. Some phone service in Denver. But things are far from what they were. Maybe it was all invevitable. An unavoidable collision between mankind and technology. The Internet was meant to make the world a smaller place. But it actually feels smaller without it. I knew Will and Evelyn Caster better than anyone. I knew their brillance. Their dedication to what they believed in. And to what they loved.
