The filming, the soundtrack, and the pacing of this film are impeccable in my opinion. Although the rhythm of a sci-fi film is a bit slow, looking at the whole film, the director does not want to make a flaming and refreshing sci-fi film, but rather prefers romantic films and literary films. This kind of rhythm is just right here. .
The most ironic part of the film is that humans destroy life in order to preserve humanity. Just like Will's exclamation to Max before his death, this exclamation sums up the contradiction of the human position. And Max used artificial intelligence to persuade Evelyn that artificial intelligence cannot tolerate contradictions, which is even more ironic and ironic.
In the whole film, only Will is strong-willed. The will of Evelyn and Max he trusts have been shaken, and they finally stand on the opposite side of Will. E and M are like representatives of human beings, full of entanglement, fear, and blinded by desire. In fact, the firmness of W's will has nothing to do with whether his identity has changed or not. The speech at the beginning showed that he is different from M and E. W pursues his dreams wholeheartedly, even a little unrealistic. Like many genius images in film and television dramas, he ignores interests and even does not want to socialize. While E and M are more practical, they know how to use their talents for their own benefit in order to achieve their dreams. W is more pure and therefore firm, M and E are more greedy, they always want to weigh the pros and cons to make the most favorable choice, and keep jumping left and right. Maybe only W himself knows the anxiety and powerlessness of seeing his lover wake up in the middle of the night, and the struggle and pain in it can only be digested by himself. W has complained, so before E was hit, he was a little indifferent, like a child who needs to be coaxed. He uses his remodeled body to meet E, hoping to impress his lover. E's perfunctory behavior contrasts with his careful desire. W has never hated because of love, because he is so gentle by nature, but unfortunately even E does not understand.
The rift between W and E is probably because of their different identities. One is still mortal to the naked eye, and the other is omnipotent and omnipresent. The huge difference between them begins to make E wonder if the person in front of him is still his beloved husband. Doubt and anxiety make E immersed in her own pain and unable to devote the energy to understanding her husband's actions, which turns the rift between the two into a gulf. E's behavior is understandable, so I can't criticize her and blame her, I just feel sorry. But luckily the two were together forever.
Only using the resistance army and the love of a couple to reflect the contradiction between technology and people is actually a little weak, especially the reasons for the establishment of the resistance army at the beginning are a little untenable, and M's jumping back is a bit blunt.
