The title is so misleading, it attracted vulgar horror movie and witch movie lovers like me to watch a thoughtful and terrifying literary film.
The film received good reviews and was considered thought-provoking. I also find it really thought provoking. The film does not play what the witch did, how she did it, what spell she used, whether she took a wand, or whether she rode a broom. It appeared three times in total. The first time I took out the knife and made a gesture on the baby's body and then smeared blood on myself (when I watched it, I was waiting for something magical to happen after the blood was applied, such as the witch becoming a girl or completing some kind of Sacrifice, the big boss appeared, waited and waited, lost it); seduced the younger brother for the second time, and kissed the younger brother vigorously (thinking that the witch would suck the life of the younger brother away and enhance his mana, but no, I don't expect it anymore. This scene appeared); the third time the eldest sister killed the twins and the mother, completely collapsed, saw the witches hold sacrifice rituals, slowly vacated, and the sister also became a witch.
What the movie makes people think about is that there is no devil or witch in the world, everyone is a devil, and everyone will become a witch. Those who are killed by so-called devils and witches are not necessarily evil; those who are considered devils and witches are not necessarily innocent. The people who push people to become witches in the film are self-righteous fanatics who put their sins, incompetence, and faults on others. They are also a kind of devil.
The most terrifying scene in the whole show is when my mother was pecked at her nipple by a crow, which made my scalp go numb and I almost vomit. Fortunately, I held back.
ps: The actors of father and mother have all acted in Game of Thrones. The father plays one of Theon's subordinates, and the mother plays Aunt Cat and her sister, who kills her husband, spoils her children, and likes Littlefinger.
After watching The Witch, I had to watch a few episodes of Salem to slow down...
