What is the use of love?

Having dinner with friends on Tuesday night, she asked, "How often do you talk to your boyfriend a day?"
"You only talk a few times a week."
In her eyes, I saw a kind of surprise The look drifted away.

Yes, I had a long-distance relationship, and it lasted quite a long time. Compared to the couples who stay online all the time and find each other, we are alienated.

It's not that there is nothing to say, and sometimes it will go up to the ground when it is said, and it will not stop. Every time I tell outsiders that we have known each other for nearly 20 years, I always scare outsiders. Despite the long-term acquaintance, we still do not see the same thing in everything, or are in love everywhere.

My stubbornness combined with his randomness, which are their own shortcomings, but also an excellent way to maintain their independence.

I am naturally sensitive, and natural pain sometimes comes for no reason. When I talked to a girl about some unrelieved anxiety, she said to me, why don't you find your boyfriend to solve your anxiety?
"Because I think it's better to solve it yourself."
"What's the use of falling in love? What's the use of love?"

What's the use of love?
When I watched the movie "Your Name", I thought of this question again.

I didn't watch any Japanese anime movies before watching "Your Name". Hayao Miyazaki's name has been heard many times, but I don't know anything about Xinhaicheng.

At the beginning, I was attracted by the picture on the screen. The realism of the picture was too high, it was like a real scene. A little girl named Sanye lives in a small and remote town that doesn't even have a cafe. She longed to leave and live in a big city like Tokyo. It's amazing that in her dream, she swapped bodies with a Tokyo boy named Taki and lived each other's lives.

In simple cartoons, it seems that there are some complex plot settings, such as some sci-fi, time-travel, and whimsical ideas such as swapping bodies. However, take all the fancy plot settings out of it, and you're just telling the story of how a boy and a girl meet.

In the movie, sometimes funny and sometimes warm pictures are used to push their distance. Although they are separated by time and space, separated by thousands of mountains and rivers, the scene of them running constantly in the picture brings the two hearts closer and closer together.

I watched this movie at lunchtime on a weekday, and it was just me and a girl in the whole movie theater. She was sitting in the second row in front of me, and in the second half of the movie, a few moments when Mitsuha and Taki met, I saw the girl in front of me cry. When Taki said to Mitsuha, "We seem to have met somewhere", the girl cried even more.

Although I didn't cry during the whole scene, I understood the girl's mood very well.

Living in such a big city with a population of ten million seems to be surrounded by people all the time, but everyone's inner loneliness is nowhere to be placed.
On the subway and on the bus, there are tired young faces, and it is getting harder and harder for them to meet someone who can run for them.

It is very easy to meet a person in this city, but it becomes difficult to fall in love with a person. It is a huge test for us to establish a long-term intimate and trusting relationship with a person.

According to this logic, love is sometimes a "hardship" choice.

At the end of the movie, the girl in the front row didn't leave right away. I sat behind her and thought of the question again: What's the use of love? When the exit lights suddenly turned on in the dark cinema, all the answers I could think of were: love, it's useless.

However, I still want to love.

I am willing to do everything I can to make myself a little better while living alone. I want to live the present moment with my heart and look forward to the future. Or, like sitting in front of me watching a movie and seeing a crying girl, there is always a softness in my heart, it evokes your memories, your past.

Love may most easily make people fall into sadness and despair,
but it is also love that can make people escape from all sadness and despair.
