114 minutes The 118-kilogram Dwayne Johnson once again showed his charming charm of coexistence of toughness and tenderness. This time, he became the three protagonists of the film side by side with the earthquake and tsunami. I have to say that when I see a giant boulder as strong as an iron tower, not to mention his ex-wife and daughter in the film, even I feel safe off-screen, not to mention that he has super rescue and survival skills. It is also a disaster film. I think this film will win "2012" as a whole, because the film does not try to show the appearance of all beings when the disaster comes, but only focuses on the Dushi family, and the roles of the state and government are relegated to the back. The location is not too sensational, the plot is not procrastinated, and the overall rhythm is maintained. What is even more rare is that many details of this film are convincing, especially some survival skills of Dushi and his daughter, such as some emergency measures in the event of an earthquake, such as finding relief materials from the safety box of rescue vehicles, etc. ,Very practical.

Of course, such tragic natural disasters are unlikely to occur in our daily lives, but it is necessary to accumulate a little common sense and skills in this area, and I feel that we lack such things. This film is about personal and family self-rescue. In many American disaster movies, there are often group self-rescue plots, such as the famous "Flight 93". After being hijacked by terrorists, the passengers immediately formed a self-rescue group. There are professionals in related fields, but most of them are ordinary civilians, but they all know the basic common sense of first aid, which involves medicine, engineering and other aspects. Good personal qualities enable them to perform well as a group. Therefore, although this group was formed temporarily, it showed amazing execution ability, which caused great trouble to the terrorists. This seems very unlikely in our society.
Of course, as a disaster film, big scenes are essential. This film is different from "2012" in the big scenes. It takes a more realistic route, and the professor at the California Institute of Technology also gave sufficient theoretical basis. In addition, I don't know if it's a problem with the theater equipment I watched, or the production of the film itself. The 3D effect of the film is not obvious, so the audio-visual impact is not as shocking as "2012". Maybe this has something to do with the level of disaster. "2012" is the end of the world, and this film is a geological disaster on the West Coast of the United States. The two are not the same.
Overall, as a transitional choice before the release of Pig Chicken, this film is still worth watching. Based on 10 points, I give it 7 points.
