"Fantasy and reality, where would you prefer to live?"
This question is for the people in the play, and it is also for the audience of "Wanda Vision".
The story revolves around the love and adventures of Vision and Scarlet Witch, and the mainline takes place after Avengers: Endgame. Since Vision's death, Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) has lost her mind and used magic to control the small town "West View Town". She created a world of her own based on the melodrama, and created a world of her own. A new Vision (Paul Bettany), and the townspeople are magically assimilated into characters. In this world, she is in love and happiness with Vision, and has twin sons Tommy and Billy. But the intervention of the Tianjian Bureau broke the tranquility of Wanda, and the witch Agatha Harkness (played by Catherine Hahn) lurking in the town also revealed her prototype, trying to capture Wanda's chaotic magic. The town no longer has the peace it used to be, and Wanda finds that everything that he thought was happy makes others miserable, and chaos is coming.
The first few episodes of the film are in the form of black and white comedy. The witty and humorous style makes the audience laugh and make people think that everything is so beautiful. As Vision's boss came to the house and the neighbors gradually became familiar with each other, Wanda and Vision's social circle continued to expand, but the film showed us the other side of the other citizens of West King Town besides the couple: pain. They will look horrified and shout "HELP ME". That is to say, all the ordinary citizens controlled by Wanda let them live in their own fantasy, but others were unwilling.
It is worth mentioning that although Vision is also a product of Wanda's fantasy, it is not controlled by Wanda's mind. He gradually discovered that people are living in fantasy, so he also pushed the plot further, and finally understood it all.
Why would Wanda want to live in fantasy? Wanda lost his parents because of the war since he was a child, and his only younger brother also died because of the war. Later, I met the person I loved, that is, Vision, but once again died because of the war. She hated war, and she desperately sought a place of comfort where there was only joy and happiness. So she created all this and controlled everyone in Xijing Town. However, all the residents of Xijing Town do not want to live in fantasy. They are controlled by Wanda and cannot be themselves.
Sometimes, we long to live in utopia, but from the play we can find that utopia is not a paradise. Xijing Town, under the control of Wanda, is peaceful and happy, and people still fear and suffer. Accept that imperfection is perfect, and know that nothing in the world is without flaws. Living in the moment and acknowledging your imperfections is the best way to go.
