Praise the New Murder (No Spoilers)

First of all, let's go back to the 1974 version, which brought together the best scripts of the best big-name actors of that era. Although the shooting scene at that time was so simple that there was only one carriage without any gimmicks, it was indeed a beautiful stroke in film history.

And this year's new version can really be described as luxurious. Agatha's original story is exciting enough and the old movie is too deeply rooted in people's hearts. Before going to the cinema, I imagined many times how to break through this time. The answer I got was to rearrange the script and add new shooting techniques, but I didn't expect it. It is Kenneth, the Shakespeare-born British director, who brings the drama and elegance to this new work.

The new big scene and backstory gave me a sense of freshness at the beginning, and some of the lighting on the exteriors was just perfect toned and the movement of the shots had the aesthetics of The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Everyone in this group of actors can withstand close-up shots on the big screen, and their acting skills are flawless. Everyone has several explosive pictures. It can be said that this group of characters is very vivid. The final "judgment" was actually changed to an exterior scene. The scene really has the taste of "The Last Supper", and the compassion and profoundness of Poirot's newly added lines are indeed the transmission of the spirit of God in the "Bible".

Poirot at the end of the old version gave a second guess and handed it over to the police because the police would only prefer the easiest way to end this complicated case. No one has the right to decide the life and death of others but there is morality and logic as well as personal conscience and self-judgment outside the law. This is a choice deep in human nature, and it is also an inevitable result under the great era. If someone is very moved by these, I recommend the movie "Mr. Sherlock" again, you will be more moved.

The "nobles" sitting in the first-class compartment of the Orient Express are the epitome of elites from all walks of life in the great era, and no matter who they are, they have so many secrets and so deep sadness. In this vast world, individuals want to get flawless. Happiness, the pursuit of inner peace, is really difficult.

Poirot's last words are for everyone "Wish you all get peace".

(Ps In fact, the most exciting thing about "Murder on the Orient Express" is that the lines are deduced from the beginning, and the lines are full of punchlines. Unfortunately, I didn't fully understand it because the rhythm was too fast and there was an accent. But even so, I thought it was very good-looking. After the release, I wish everyone a good viewing experience! Also, if anyone likes this kind of drama where a group of people diss each other, don't miss "Twelve Angry Men", this is definitely the best!)

(There are a few sentences mentioned at the end of Ps2 that the director will remake "The Massacre on the Nile" later. After reading the interview, he does have more stories of the Great Detective Poirot series, recommended!)

Murder on the Orient Express quotes

  • British Military Escort: How did you know it was him, sir? From just a tiny crack on the wall?

Hercule Poirot: I have the advantage. I can only see the world as it should be. And when it is not the imperfection stands out like the nose in the middle of a face. It... it makes most of life unbearable, but it is useful in the detection of crime.

British Military Escort: But it's as though you see into their hearts and divine their true natures.

Hercule Poirot: And whatever people say, there is right, there is wrong. There is nothing in between.
