full of love and gratitude

This movie made me cry so hard! That's right! It's not tears, it's smug! highly recommended! The only regret is that I didn't bring one or two relatives and friends to share, but it can be regarded as a wonderful life journey, full of love and gratitude!

The first half of the film takes place in India, and the second half is mainly in Australia. The little male protagonist Saroo's acting is so good that he has left a deep imprint on my heart. In the story, as the New York Times commented: "As long as you were a child...you will be deeply shocked by this movie"!

Compared with the first half, the rhythm of the second half is a bit confusing. Because the shaping of the story and the emotional foreshadowing in the first half are really good, there is some contrast. The director estimates that the second half has nothing to do with the main line. Weakening, it's just a little bit worse, but it's innocuous, the main line is progressing logically, the emotions are still very full, and the interpretation of the characters is also very successful. I have to mention the adoptive mother played by Nicole Kidman, whether it is acting or characters. The feelings of "love" displayed made me amazed and moved! "There are already enough people in the world, and having children by yourself can't change anything. If you can help those children who are suffering and give them a chance, maybe there will be a little bit more meaning..." (Tears, many times I think, Having children, these parents are really there to love them, to shape new lives, and just for themselves)

The emotions and connotations contained in the film, in the choice of not spoiling as much as possible, can't show the beauty of this film in a few words here, only by really experiencing the feelings can you have your own feelings...

Most importantly, this movie, comes from a true story…

Lion quotes

  • Saroo Brierley: I'm sorry you couldn't have your own kids.

Sue Brierley: What are you saying?

Saroo Brierley: We... we... weren't blank pages, were we? Like your own would have been. You weren't just adopting us but our past as well. I feel like we're killing you.

Sue Brierley: I could have had kids.

    Saroo Brierley: What?

Sue Brierley: We chose not to have kids. We wanted the two of you. That's what we wanted. We wanted the two of you in our lives. That's what we chose.

    [pause]

Sue Brierley: That's one of the reasons I fell in love with your dad.

    [pause]

Sue Brierley: Because we both felt as if... the world has enough people in it. Have a child, couldn't guarantee it will make anything better. But to take a child that's suffering like you boys were. Give you a chance in the world. That's something.

  • Saroo Brierley: Do you have any idea what it's like knowing my real brother and mother spent every day of their lives looking for me? Huh? How every day my real brother screams my name? Can you imagine the pain they must be in not knowing where I am?
