Jack is really working hard

Four stars are for Jack's acting and hard work.
The plot is the routine of a regular boxing story.
A boxer feels like he has developed limbs and a simple mind, and is always taken care of by his wife. This inherent defect cannot be solved by winning one more fight, so even the warmth is unsettling for no reason.
The daughter is extremely mature, and her eyes are full of drama, which is a bit too much. The worst thing is that his wife just died like that, and he didn't perform too much! This makes the film more like a story about a spoiled child who loses his support and then learns to be strong by himself. Boxing is not important.
Always thought that the opponent would eventually apologize for his wife's death in some way, and he didn't. The plot is really unimpressive.
However, the grief and self-deprecation of the wise coach after the boy was killed is very touching.

    1. During the viewing process, I always felt that this was a mediocre plot, without any sense of freshness and surprise, but still my eyes were sore and moist in front of the same plot again; 2. Watching Billy's feelings for his wife and The relationship between father and daughter, compared with Billy's "fierce" in the boxing ring, will reveal how magical two states of a person are.

Billy Hope: I took some Advil. You're gonna write that down?

    Angela Rivera: Mmm-hmm.

Billy Hope: "He took some Advil. He can't see his kid"?

  • Billy Hope: When I was twelve years old there was this little girl, she was skinny, she had ratty hair, she had been through it. She stuck with me when I was incarcerated a couple of times, and I knew she was there. I wouldn't be here without my wife Maureen.
