I have also read a lot of interpretations of the ending. From the lines and the expressions of the staff, I should be able to conclude that the last person who came back was the Grim Reaper himself. So, who did the heroine fall in love with? I think, if you want to talk about love, it should be death. The heroine's love for the hero begins with the coffee shop boy's liking, and finally is deeply touched by the soul of the deity of death who has lost his house. After all, at the beginning, in the heroine's own words, "I like you so much", and in the end, the heroine's confession to the god of death was "I fell in love with a man". Obviously, the latter is more resolute and more turbulent. In addition to love, the more important theme of this film is how to face people's life and the moment of death that is destined to come. Anthony Hopkins's natural interpretation of this role is full of emotion, adding a unique temperament to this film. It's hard to see such a complete movie these days.
