"Modern Times" is a classic comedy film directed and starred by Charlie Chaplin, which was released on February 25, 1936. The story of this film takes place in the 1930s, the United States is in the Great Depression. The film is about an ordinary low-level worker, Charlie, who is struggling at the bottom of society, but still can't maintain basic food and clothing. Although he lived so hard, he still rescued a homeless woman and reap the story of love. The film was ranked 78th on the list of the greatest movies of all time in 2007. Although the film is a comedy, it reflects the darkness of capitalism's desperate oppression of the proletarian workers at the time. Director Chaplin believes that using comical and exaggerated body language is far better than dialogue. Therefore, he only added a soundtrack and a little sound to the film. He used this "Modern Times" to complete the final closing piece of Chaplin's silent film era.
