Ben-Hur was released in 1959, starring Charlton Heston as Yoda Ben-Hur. Everything he experienced, was imprisoned by his childhood friend Misara, rowed on the boat for three years, rescued the consul Aris, became his adopted son, competed with Misara, and found that his mother and sister had leprosy sickness, etc. Everything he experienced was spent under constant hatred and firm belief. He hated Rome, the country that had caused him so much pain. He wants revenge, for himself, for his family.
On the way before he got on the boat, the beating of the soldiers, the boundless desert, and the scorching weather. He was thirsty, but there was no water for him to drink, and the water he finally got was taken away by the soldiers. Just then, someone gave him a ladle of water, starting from scratch. His face was not shown in the play, but his back was shown every time. Ben Hur looked at him, full of power again. Later, he said, this man gave me water and gave me the strength to live. Later, when he saw his mother and sister, the fire of revenge ignited in his heart again, and Esther's dissuasion was useless. But she still firmly believed in the young missionary, believing that this was the belief given by God. She went to the Valley of Leprosy to take Marianne and Tereza to see him, she believed that he could save them, or give them hope.
After Judas and Esther came to the city with their mother and sister, the city was deserted. A blind beggar said that everyone went to see the young missionary's trial. He was wearing a white robe, with marks of being beaten on his body, surrounded by people, his eyes full of despair. He was their hope, but when he was tried, Esther said, there was still so much peace in his eyes. At the time of being crucified, he said, farther, forget them. He took all the pain for the world, and finally died like this. When he died, there was a heavy rain, and Marianne and Trisha suddenly recovered from their leprosy. Ben-Hur returned home and said to Esther, his words made me put down the sword in my heart.

This is a film with religious overtones, aka The Story of the Savior. In the whole play, it is not reflected through the direct portrayal of Jesus, but through the side reflections of a series of characters, Ben-Hur, Esther, and Misara. The color of the oil painting in the whole play makes people feel unsatisfied, and the portrayed Jesus never shows his face, which is also a major novelty of the whole play. It might be said that it is a belief, a power, without the need for what the person is. It is also difficult to use a certain image to express Jesus, and everyone must have a different image in their hearts.
In the end, Marian and Trisha were cured, and Ben-Hur let go of the idea of revenge. Perhaps this is all that Jesus gave.
This is the blessing of God, who forgives the world with his own pain, and allows the world to forgive others in the world.
