This is a story with a happy outer core but a sad inner core. It is about the life of a deformed person (that is, an elephant person), being abused, redeemed, and abused again. Fortunately, it is not a tragic ending in the end. The Elephant Man's attire successfully creates an atmosphere of terror and mystery. This movie really shocked me because it deeply depicts human nature. Some people criticize this as hypocritical humanitarian concern. I think it is true, but hypocrisy is better than indifference. Some things still have to be read and then judged. And I think Lynch is indeed a well-deserved master, he brought that kind of horror to the fullest, not only the horror of elephants, but also the horror of human nature. In fact, what frightened me the most was the horror of human nature. This movie reminds me of the classic phrase "I'm born to be human, I'm sorry."
