Burlesque: Remembrance of the Golden Age

I rarely watch musicals/music films, so I can’t make any comments about these films. But from the perspective of an ordinary audience, burlesque is really a good and exciting inspirational film, if not a good song and dance film.

But I still like the singing and dancing inside. Cher’s singing has a penetrating power and a sense of vicissitudes, especially the song Last of me sung when the club is about to be taken back, which reminds me of the persistence and stubbornness after the golden years, and the maternal performance in the play made me treat her. The impression of a donkey face has improved a lot. But the most amazing thing in the film is undoubtedly Christina Aguilera, who plays the young girl Ali. This girl with a sweet face like Paris Hilton is very explosive in both singing and dancing. The hot dance show was already at the audition. Enough to fascinate the audience, and as the girl grows up, the wave of song and dance shows are even more dizzying. The choreography and costume props that Hollywood is good at make people return to the glory of the golden age of musicals, and what I like most is her delicate appearance with light makeup when she first became a dancer, and the beautiful figure set off by the monochrome T-shirt makes The girl next door who never forgets. Although the musical is not a test of acting skills, the actress who made her debut on the big screen is definitely promising. I don't know how many fans will flood into her club after this movie.

The storyline is simple (sings and dances should always be like this): Ali, a girl from Iowa, went to Los Angeles by herself and came to a nightclub named Burlesque to become a dancer. The nightclub owner Tess (Cher) is a red star decades ago. The Burlesque she runs is the lifeblood of her decades of hard work. It is the home of various staff members-bands, stage art, audio and dancers. But it was caught in the crisis of being demolished by real estate developers. In the process of becoming famous, Ali has to make a choice between bartenders and wealthy real estate agents who share a common language. I like this simple and clear, the original song and dance film does not need too many tricks, good and bad, simple and crude, inspirational and direct. Ali's life is as pure as her singing and dancing, and it hits people's hearts.

If films like Chicago and NINE can be liked by the Oscars, then this film will have a lot of fun next year.

Burlesque quotes

  • Marcus: You know, not that I give a shit, but why is it that you want my club so badly?

Marcus: I like it. When I see something I like, I have to have it. Been that way since I was a kid.

Tess: That must have made you very popular in the sandbox.

    Marcus: [grins] I did okay.

  • Vince: Do you know what you could do with that money, Tess?

Tess: Do you know what *you* could do with that money, Vince?

    Vince: Not now...

    Tess: Don't "not now" me.
