The editing took only two and a half weeks. From start to finish, RR has done the screenwriting, director, editing, sound effects, soundtrack, photography, video and special effects.
After winning the award, Columbia Pictures invested another million to perfect it, including zooming in to 35mm film and adding a new audio track. El Mariachi later won two million at the box office. Colombia was so happy to spend another seven million to shoot the sequel Desperado for RR, this time with Banderas as the lead. RR still takes care of the work of writing, directing, editing and stabilizing the camera alone. This sequel later won the Cannes Palme d'Or, with a box office of 50 million.
