Title: "Deadly Traveler" The Tourist
Director: Florian Henkel von Donnersmaar
Starring : Johnny De Pu, Angelina Jolie
Rating: 6 I
believe that many people go to see this film for the two superstars---Johnny Depp + Angelina Jolie, such a combination is naturally attractive The first magic weapon of the eye. Unfortunately, this film has once again proved one thing: good actors are not enough. In fact, apart from the beauty of Venice and the gorgeous clothes on Julie's body, the film is only a gorgeous gimmick that doesn't exist - a deadly journey that turns out to be a boring farce of grandstanding.
It is said that the plot of this film is very similar to a French film. I have not seen that French film, but even so, when Depp appeared, I guessed the ending of the film. Therefore, the entire viewing process is basically immersed in an inexplicable frustration. The failure of the screenwriter directly led to the collapse of the overall pattern of the film. Originally, I wanted to create a situation where every step is a step, and there are riddles, but unexpectedly, from the beginning, I fell into a boring and scattered chaos. It's hard to believe that the director of this film turned out to be von Donnersma, who made the best foreign language film "Eavesdropping Storm" at the Oscars. It can be seen that no matter how good the director is, he is powerless when he encounters a bad book.
There are many ifs that can make this film a classic. For example, if the identity of a woman's secret agent could be concealed more; if the fact of a man's plastic surgery could be less obtrusive; if love could have more convincing reasons; if everything was not so deliberate and hasty... everything is just if , the movie has no assumptions, we don't need to know what happened during the shooting process, we only see the final result presented.
The result is that love is not strong, suspense is not strong, chasing is not strong, and even desperation is not strong. The only thing to force is the costumes and the beautiful scenery. Then, just watch it as a Venice scenery film. The ancient city floating in the water was so beautiful, the hotel suite they stayed in was so luxurious, and the world they saw from the balcony was so perfect.
Also perfect are Angelina Jolie's costumes - from the white dress with a red streamer at the back at the beginning, to the linen-gray dress she later changed into, and the dinner party dress. That off-the-shoulder black gown, each with sparkles, was designed to make Jolie the most eye-catching woman in the crowd.
Undoubtedly, this purpose has been achieved. Julie is a typical "vase" in this film. The core task is to dress up, and wherever she goes, she must be the focus of attention. In this way, there is no other room to play. Oh, and she also has to be able to sail a boat and be responsible for getting Depp out.
It's a pity that Depp's good acting skills also made him a "male vase" unfortunately. In fact, the biggest suspense lies in him, because he is the hidden Alexander Pierce. But without any details or necessary emotional accumulation, he became a hapless man. Apart from being caught in handcuffs again and again, or fleeing in embarrassment, he didn't seem to do anything else. Even if it is to pursue the effect of "concealment" of identity, there is no need to be so "indifferent". Especially the emotional scene between him and Julie, such an understatement will only make the audience feel inexplicable and abrupt. Why did these two strange men and women who met on the train suddenly "confessed affectionately and promised each other in life and death" at the end of it, seemingly nothing happened? This is too incomprehensible.
Thus, the film's summary statement became: inexplicable encounters in the first half, various escapes in the second half, and the mystery was revealed bluntly and abruptly.
