Ironically, the disappointing part of the movie is not the special effects. The Strause brothers are very skilled in special effects and are quite satisfactory. Some fragments are quite impressive. Personally, the most favorite crashed fighter jet skimmed over the heads of the heroes and heroines and then hit the aliens. The plot of the movie is really horrible, all kinds of words and no explanation. It's as if the screenwriter received the director's outline, and then spent a breakfast to show the plot to Hu Xu. In the ten or twenty minutes before the aliens attack, cutting three or four minutes at any time will not affect the continuity, because the plot itself has no connection at all. At the end of the movie, the screenwriter tried to turn the tide and got a unique ending, probably because the audience was afraid that they copied the plots of Independence Day and World War. It's a pity that everyone has a score in their hearts after seeing this movie.
The film’s difficulty in investment can be seen everywhere. It is obviously in the bustling LA, but it is only a dilapidated tube building. When showing the panoramic view, it also deliberately uses ostentatious overhead and aerial photography, plus a wind-driven soundtrack. It's like bullying the audience for not entering the city. The characters appearing in the whole film are also very few. I feel that the whole LA is just like little ants except for the protagonists... just when they are sucked away by the alien spacecraft... the
film is led by a group of second-tier TV stars. The acting skills are quite satisfactory, having said that, such a clueless plot should not be enriched with too much acting skills. It’s a pity that none of these second-tier TV stars can make people’s eyes shine. They are all middle-aged mature men and women. It’s better to learn from alfalfa and get a group of handsome guys and beautiful girls to act. Maybe it’s even more so. Be more appealing.
Considering the cost of 10 million yuan, the film does not lose points in terms of special effects, and the director must have taken great pains, but the story is simply a mess...
