My watchbook: "Hero 1"

Chinese domestic netizens have been following American dramas on a large scale, starting with "Prison Break", followed by "Lost", and "Heroes" a little later. I've always been late in this regard. When the people around me had already watched Lost and Heroes, I started to make up for "Prison Break" slowly, and picked up "Heroes" in 2009. At the end of the year, it really fell behind to Pluto. However, the biggest advantage of this is that it can directly save the pain of waiting for the weekly update, and directly see the latest progress directly from the first episode of the first season.

While making up for "Heroes," I'm still catching up with another American drama, "Lost." At that time, I saw the second season of "Lost", and I was really tired of the slow narrative rhythm of the show, so I decided to watch two episodes of "Heroes" to adjust it. I didn't expect that these two short episodes suddenly made me unable to hold back. Now, take a breath, and watch the three seasons of "Heroes" that were released at that time in a few days. At least at this time, the fast-paced, exquisite special effects, and full of American heroism, "Hero" brought me a viewing pleasure that was unmatched by the slow, procrastinating, depressing, and weird "Lost". Of course, later, my evaluation of these two dramas took a 180-degree turn, just because of their stamina, they are really not the same level.

The biggest attraction of this show is naturally those various superpowers, each with an ability, suddenly appearing on those people at a certain period of time, just like "Spider-Man", the people who get the ability are going through the experience. After psychological changes such as excitement, panic, and entanglement, there will be no exception to the choice of how to use one's own abilities. The protagonist and his party chose to use their abilities to fight against those with evil abilities in order to save human beings from danger again and again (it really is American heroism); Sera, Miyamoto Musashi, the protagonist's father, etc., because they could not overcome their own negativity Emotionally, he embarked on the road of becoming an enemy of humans, and of course he must become the target of the protagonist's camp.

Like many other American shows, the best thing about "Heroes" is its first season, and that's all I like. Because the opening is novel and interesting, everyone's scene when they find out that they have the ability is very exciting. The cheerleader Claire, who found that he can regenerate infinitely, is cut open from the middle of his body after being kidnapped by the gangster, and he can wake up and return to his original state. Thriller At the same time, there is a little humor; a middle-aged policeman accidentally discovers that he has the ability to read minds, so he uses this ability to make up for the broken relationship between husband and wife; a Japanese idiot realizes that he has gained a powerful ability to control time and space, He began to dream of heroic saving the world... Mind reading, regeneration, time travel, flying, predicting the future, mind control, alchemy... These things we have always wanted to have, in this drama, change became a reality.

The wonderful thing about the first season is not only because it brings a gorgeous and novel visual perception to the audience, but also its excellent production is not only in terms of special effects. The exciting and suspenseful plot, complex and charming characters are the more important reasons why it can attract the audience so much. In this episode, the appearance of the "deep version of Akuan" from the future is a very interesting plot setting. He revealed the information of the destruction of the world to the protagonists of this era. Since then, he has appeared several times to bring this suspense to life. Uncovered little by little, it captures the curiosity of the audience from start to finish. It’s a pity that this good momentum stayed too short. The second season seemed to have a pretty good opening, but it ended abruptly because of the writers’ strike. The third season’s plot is very complete, and the opening is also very cool and rich. The impact is strong, but the follow-up is very weak. By the fourth season, the whole show has been boring to the extreme, even more bleak than the last season of the much-criticized "Prison Break", not even a good ending.

As for this American drama, my opinion is that it has a good idea and opening, but it can't stick to the end because of the lack of ability of the creator. The first season originally had a complete plot and an unsatisfactory ending. Every character was well-made. As the story progressed, the audience's attention and expectations began to increase, but the creators Less than this height, we can only use previously used ideas to forcefully expand the plot. The relationship between "reborn girl" Claire and her adoptive father who is engaged in secret work is always in a situation of "being at peace - contradiction appears - contradiction stimulates - life and death type plot occurs - reconciliation - contradiction reappears - contradiction In the endless cycle of re-exciting - life and death, the plot happens again - and reunion"; the big villain Sera always encounters some people, and then these people change his psychology, as if to make him He changed his ways and returned to the right, but every time because of a little accident, he went back to the wrong path again, and it became more terrifying. At the same time, bugs in ability setting continue to appear, so that the screenwriter can only fix these bugs by constantly patching in the later stage. For example, the ability of the protagonist at the beginning is set to be ridiculously strong (it can be unlimited Copy the ability of others), and then had to choose to make him lose the ability and then regain it (after it becomes a copy of a person's ability, it automatically replaces the previously obtained ability); the Japanese idiot's time and space control ability is too strong, so the screenwriter in Later, he also lost his ability once, and later regained it, and he could only control time. When dealing with people with too powerful abilities, the willful choices made by the screenwriter make people laugh and cry. For example, there is a guy who can create a black hole. His ability is almost the level of a big boss. Unfortunately, he is a passerby. It is really a waste to be controlled by people and directly create a black hole to swallow oneself...

I don't want to overly deny the "Heroes" after the second season. After all, there are not no highlights. For example, the shaping of the big villain Sera is indeed experienced. After dozens of episodes of heavy depiction, it has become more and more complex and plump, and its popularity has also increased. Watching Season 4 I can't even think about how this guy will end up in the end. Claire's father is also very well-shaped, despite being caught in what I described earlier as a "vicious loop" in the later stages. The characters have to grow gradually and the characters gradually become fuller. This can be regarded as a successful shaping. Sera's shaping is very successful, but other people generally fall into this "weird circle", which is really annoying to me.

Speaking of which, Hayden Panettiere, who played the heroine Claire, was only 17 years old when the first season was filmed. I really didn't see it at the time, although she was really young... She didn't know how to eat in the second season. So much good stuff, getting fat... but getting sexy again in season 3... well, that's off topic.
