Eastern Promise

To be honest, I feel that I didn't understand this film. The director should not just want to express what I saw. All I can see is a statement of a story. It would be too simplistic if it were just that.
The male protagonist is the one in the history of violence, and the woman is the one from 21 grams and Mulholland Avenue. The two do not have too many emotional scenes, but their fates are inadvertently linked together.
The streets of London always feel dark and damp, and in the rare sunny weather, the dirty business of the mafia is also carried out. This is how London is seen in the film. The whole film is filled with this uncomfortable feeling. The atmosphere is a bit frustrating, I don't like this movie very much, in general.

Long-winded, one star for Viggo, who is still struggling to play the very pornographic and violent bathhouse subsection at the age of 50!

The godfather is too dark. It's too dark to bear. Why does Russia always appear in movies like this~

Eastern Promises quotes

  • Nikolai Luzhin: [referring to Soyka] Okay. Now I'm going to do his teeth and cut off his fingers. You might want to leave room.

[Nikolai motions for Azim to go away, and then puts out his cigarette on his tongue]
