Stop the spread of "blind flu"-thinking about the relationship between the "blind" society and us

Portuguese Nobel Prize winner Jose Saramago wrote this stunning and alarming work 15 years ago. There are several different interpretations of the entire title. In the narrow sense, it means "blindness", which refers to what we see and hear in our society, the "blindness" of the human heart, the blockage of the head, and obedience is also a manifestation of "blindness." From the current social incidents in Hong Kong, it can be roughly seen that the country parks are delineated for the construction of landfills. When the residents of Tseung Kwan O are harassed by the foul smell, the citizens of other areas look at it from another angle, such as in their hearts. Secretly "fortunately it's not my community," and even reveals an attitude that it doesn't matter to oneself and that one does not work. This kind of blindness can be called "blindness", which is a psychological imbalance and a kind of blindness. Although it is not physically "blind", this attitude of indifference is the most terrifying. There is also the ``white terror''. In the current political development in Hong Kong, there is also a manifestation of ``blind obedience''. Social affairs, indifference and indifference have all appeared in society, and are currently under the influence of opposition parties. There are relatively more voices of "resistance", but it has not yet improved the spread of "blindness" in the entire society. What I am referring to here may be a core of power, or an attitude, such as a way of subverting traditional thinking. The terrible thing about the real society is that human beings have no way to change the society, and there is a dualistic ideological opposition. There are bound to be blind spots in the vision of our "eyes", which are revealed through the accumulation and perception of life.

The "white blindness" mentioned in the book is a metaphor to a certain extent. When we still sit idly by and ignore certain things, one generation will have more and more responsibilities left to the next. In a broad sense, ``blindness'' is understood as physical blindness. There are two meanings in the film. In addition to being a kind of ``white blindness'' that spreads to the city, the government decided to send the patients to the quarantine area and want those people to ``fend for themselves''. . The citizens generally think that the government will help them, but they expect nothing. In order to survive in the quarantine zone, the ugliness of human nature is exhausted. When the ophthalmologist got the disease inexplicably, the wife did not hesitate to "play blind" and go to the camp to take care of her husband's daily life. The arrangement for her role was special. Relatively speaking, in the entire blind city, the doctor's wife is the only recorder of disasters. She saw the government's indifference and falsehood towards the people, saw how cheap human lives, saw women willing to succumb to the hegemony of men for food, saw survival and life, saw the cruelty of reality, and finally saw the "miracle." Everything a person does is for desire and survival. In a desperate environment, dignity is no longer worth money, and there is no so-called ``order'' anymore. There is only endless chaos. Just imagine that the person in it is himself. I can't imagine myself being able to live in a panic. Too easy life makes us lose a sense of crisis. There are people to arrange everything to have enough food and clothing. It is difficult to lose what we have been striving for in a lifetime of poverty all at once. Or the physical ``blindness'' will make us feel love, just like the doctor's wife loves her husband. Although it cannot be said that she saved other people, as a person with a conscience, her role in it is different from that of others. , She witnessed the transformation of the world with her eyes. The last sentence of the film is full of metaphorical color. When the blind people in the whole city regain their eyesight, she may be "blind." She is a participant, a recorder, a savior, and a sad person in the disaster. She felt the fragility of life, and this made her see the limitations of her life.

The treatment in the film is still quite distinctive to deal with this unknown disease. The director once filmed <>, and used the bluish and white color treatment in the film. The whole film still focused on the content of the book, and the director's choice of topic was also appropriate. Although I have not read this work, the expression of the film alone has brought out the "blind" horror and thrilling. Imagine the spread of this kind of disease in our community. I thought of Block E in Amoy Gardens, which was quarantined during the SARS period. As the disease spread, the whole city was full of panic. Fortunately, the government did not give up on them, and the people are also at this time to tide over the difficulties and fight against illnesses. It is a sincere Hong Kong spirit that the people face the disaster heart-to-heart, and advance and retreat together.

Physical "blindness" may not be scary, but blindness lacking love is the most scary. We can be very close to "turning a blind eye", we can "pretend to be blind," but we must be worthy of ourselves and don't let "blindness" continue. The true blindness infectious disease is not physical, but spiritual transmission. People who are "blind" in their hearts will truly become blind.
