'True Blood' Season 1: More Soap, More Soap

Finally finished watching the first season of "True Blood". It looks rather painful.

It's totally a soap opera. Pure soap opera.

The plot is slow, the pace is slow, and the dialogue is not interesting. It is based on the theme of vampires, but there is not much suspenseful atmosphere, the plot is not tense, and there are no big special effects or big scenes.

I watched the promotion for season 3 and said how high its ratings were, and I came down to watch it. So sorry. It's only 12 episodes of the TV series, and I watched it for more than a month.

It was only in the last two episodes of this season that some tension was created, and there was some suspense. In the first ten episodes, there is absolutely no need to shoot that long, and a lot of content can be omitted.

The scale of the episode is not very large, and there are at most two points. The total of twelve episodes of bloody scenes is not much. HBO episodes are just that.

Among the actors, there are not many seductive ones. The heroine's teeth and mouth really match. The male protagonist is old enough to match the female protagonist's age. It is also a vampire theme. The actors of "The Vampire Diaries" are much more eye-catching than those of "True Blood".

Also, the accent of the show. It sounds really awkward, a weird feeling.

All in all, this is a soap opera to kill time. Will the next few seasons be better?

Pam: Do you know nothing of our history?

Bill Compton: Vampires have often found it advantageous to maintain a hidden presence in humanity's most powerful institutions. And in the 1600's that was the Catholic Church. And today, as you all know, it's Google and Fox News.
