Edward is tolerant and understanding of Bellardo. Edward is not as impulsive as Jacob. He will agree to the heroine's adventure and then protect her in secret. He is sometimes very naive. I really can't imagine that he is over a hundred years old. He only sees Bella in his eyes. His love for Bella wasn't selfish.

Bella is a courageous girl. She loves Edward very much. She will hurt herself for the safety of her lover. She dares to admit her love for Jacob. She knows that she likes Edward better and will simply say no.
