After watching this film, I talked to my friend, and later he recommended "nothing but the truth". He said it was much better than that movie. Listening to the name, plus having seen its trailer, I probably know that it is a thriller and suspense. Then I thought of a passage from Mr. Li Ao: "Bo Yang may doubt my Li Ao's moral standards, but I can't doubt my Li Ao's aesthetic standards. - Many people think that Bo Yang's ex-wife is very beautiful, but it is not what I like at all. One type." There is a
kind of feeling that we can't directly compare different types of movies and simply say that they are more beautiful. Of course there must be a general recognition there.
I really like this movie.
1. The background is in Germany after World War II. Nothing is so detailed, big trains, big ovens, big bathtubs, and big women. Of course , there are also clothes and the like, because it is more fresh
. 2. The adult image of the protagonist of the story is very masculine and gentle, but when he was young, he was very impulsive and lazy. I've always felt that pretending to be a gentleman when you're young is tedious and inept. Just like we wouldn't describe a little boy as very manly. Maybe different things should be done at the age you like. I like to be impulsive and informal when I am young. After a certain age, it is time to cultivate some leisurely connotation.
3. The picture is beautiful and touching. Especially the scene where the 15-year-old boy is indifferent on the floor of the empty room where his lover has left.
4. The story is told clearly and completely.
With the mentality that you can buy back a different life experience with the money of a movie ticket, I like to go to the cinema to watch a movie quietly and engrossed in it. I don't chase stars, and I'm glad that I don't chase stars, so I can watch any movie that attracts me without any prejudice. I have gained a lot. This film is worth watching.

The Reader quotes

  • Rose Mather: People ask all the time what I learned in the camps. But the camps weren't therapy. What do you think these places were? Universities? We didn't go there to learn. One becomes very clear about these things. What are you asking for? Forgiveness for her? Or do you just want to feel better yourself? My advice, go to the theatre, if you want catharsis. Please. Go to literature. Don't go to the camps. Nothing comes out of the camps. Nothing.

  • Professor Rohl: Societies think they operate by something called morality, but they don't. They operate by something called law.

Professor Rohl: 8000 people worked at Auschwitz. Precisely 19 have been convicted, and only 6 of murder.

Professor Rohl: The question is never "Was it wrong", but "Was it legal". And not by our laws, no. By the laws at the time.
