Tragedy of two people

"First blood" was filmed a long time ago. My parents hadn't started dating in that era. However, every time I watch this movie when I’m bored in my spare time, there will always be some new experiences...
The whole movie is very depressing, maybe it’s the director’s arrangement to let Rambo suffer from all kinds of abuses that are close to hell. To impact the audience's senses, it conveys the character of a tough guy; of course, Stallone's vicissitudes-filled appearance and explosive figure play this role very well. However, when I watched it this time, what I thought most was the tragedy of two types of people.
One class of people is the Rambo itself. When talking to the colonel at the end of the film, Rambo has a line similar to an inner monologue: "What is civilian life to me. At least we have honor on the battlefield. Everyone takes care of each other, and back here there is nothing. "In Vietnam, I can drive a gunboat and drive a tank. I am responsible for millions of equipment, but here I can't even find a job to park." Writing this, I actually feel a kind of depression that I can't write anymore, and my chest feels as if Being blocked... Yes, the hardest thing in this world is not not being able to stand out, but being brilliant and unrestrained, but in the end you have to get used to the life of an ordinary person; even if that glory is only limited to a certain circle, the circle has passed , everything is fleeting, but how can the protagonist of the year get rid of this obsession with the past casually?
Some time ago, I read a book "Rabbit, Run! ", the hero of the book Harry High School is a star player of the school team. He has written countless records in the local basketball history and is like a momentary figure. After graduation, he married a woman with a strange personality, drinking and smoking prematurely for various reasons. , and then selling shaving knives in the mall. He is full of narcissistic fantasies and is extremely dissatisfied with reality. He always fantasizes about escaping from this humble reality and living a messy life. Of course, Rambo did not show a fascination with his past glory, but his character was deeply imbued by the unforgettable experience of the Vietnam War. He could not adapt to this American society more than 10,000 kilometers away from Vietnam. The rules of this society are not Formulated with fists and sharp knives, it's more complicated...
Another type of person is the sheriff. His lines are also righteous words: "It's a quiet town, in fact, it's boring, but we like it. I'm getting paid to keep it that way." In life, there are always a handful of people who Create an organization or hold a certain position, and then there is a kind of self-awareness of the protector, they regard it as a ban, and treat outsiders with skepticism even if it is unintentionally offended. They have the so-called integrity of "better for jade than for tiles". They think that in this world, they are gods, leaders, and prophets. As the protected object goes to destruction...
Isn't contemporary history a vivid case, the whole country is crazy; in reality, those various "chiefs", they are the protectors and designers in their world, they are crazy, It will perish with the protected object. Many times, you don't have so many responsibilities, do what you should do, be a kind person, that's enough!
Two types of people, two tragedies! Tragedy happens all the time!

I saw the clip in "The Tenth Screening Room" when I was a child, and I remember analyzing the entire series on the show back then, and I was deeply impressed. After reviewing it, I found that it is actually a film with a humanistic concern theme dressed in a hardcore action film. The script adapted by Mr. Stallone himself, on the basis of the bloody action scenes, added a deeper level of thinking and even reflection on "whether the war is over, we should forget everything caused by the war". The conversation between Rambo and the old boss, and several conversations between the old boss and the unscrupulous sheriff can be said to be metaphorical injustices. These details should be arguably what makes this film a notch higher than similar hardcore action films. Stallone did a really good job here.

They drew first blood. Nothing is over! Nothing. You just don't turn it off! It wasn't my war. Kill the cop, that motherf*****. SY

First Blood quotes

  • Trautman: You did everything to make this private war happen. You've done enough damage. This mission is over, Rambo. Do you understand me? This mission is over! Look at them out there! Look at them! If you won't end this now, they will kill you. Is that what you want? It's over Johnny. It's over!

Rambo: Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don't turn it off! It wasn't my war! You asked me, I didn't ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn't let us win! And I come back to the world and I see all those maggots at the airport, protesting me, spitting. Calling me baby killer and all kinds of vile crap! Who are they to protest me, huh? Who are they? Unless they've been me and been there and know what the hell they're yelling about!

Trautman: It was a bad time for everyone, Rambo. It's all in the past now.

Rambo: For *you*! For me civilian life is nothing! In the field we had a code of honor, you watch my back, I watch yours. Back here there's nothing!

Trautman: You're the last of an elite group, don't end it like this.

Rambo: Back there I could fly a gunship, I could drive a tank, I was in charge of million dollar equipment, back here I can't even hold a job *parking cars*!

  • Rambo: We were in this bar in Saigon and this kid comes up, this kid carrying a shoe-shine box. And he says "Shine, please, shine!" I said no. He kept askin', yeah, and Joey said "Yeah." And I went to get a couple of beers, and the box was wired, and he opened up the box, fucking blew his body all over the place. And he's laying there, he's fucking screaming. There's pieces of him all over me, just...

    [Takes off his bandolier]

Rambo: like this, and I'm tryin' to pull him off, you know, my friend that's all over me! I've got blood and everything and I'm tryin' to hold him together! I'm puttin'... the guy's fuckin' insides keep coming out! And nobody would help! Nobody would help! He's saying, sayin' "I wanna go home! I wanna go home!" He keeps calling my name! "I wanna go home, Johnny! I wanna drive my Chevy!" I said "With what? I can't find your fuckin' legs! I can't find your legs!"
