The whole film was sublimated in the last shot: she took her sister to row to the new world and life, and in the mirror he opened the door and chose to let go. The two protagonists have dedicated their touching performances! No matter what era Gray's film is set in, it is all about blood kinship and redemption. He is really an "old school" guy, maybe not perfect, but I just like stories like this. (But surprisingly, Gray himself is very humorous!)

Except for a few stunning shots, there are no surprises. There is no in-depth characterization of the characters. Everyone has the same expression from beginning to end. Under the huge story, the epic narrative, but there is a feeling of rough mind, not tempting, and not alarming.
