I feel that this is Bresson's cruelest film, with a simple and cold shot, and an alienating performance. Affected by nihilism and decadent thoughts, a person's life was rewritten by a fake coin. The montage of the mother-killing scene at the end is absolutely amazing, but unfortunately it still didn't get me interested in Bresson.

Bresson’s film analyzes the contagion of morality. By avoiding core events, omitting key actions, and inserting close-up shots to stagnate narratives, he expressed his strong sense of form in cinema.
