    Hitchcock's "Crime and Punishment"

An interpretation of Tuo's "Crime and Punishment". 4 points for films, 5 points for film ideas influenced by Tuo's ideas. I don't believe Hitchcock didn't watch Crime and Punishment.

Delicately, Hitchcock decomposes the contradictory role of Rasklinikov, full of clouds and the sun above the clouds,...

"Reaper of Souls", after watching the film, we all became accomplices?

In all fairness, Reaper of Souls wasn't Hitchcock's most successful film, but it was certainly a risky one. The entire film scene is set in that closed room, which is the murder scene. The long shots throughout, although the transition is ingenious, I have to admit that it is too long and...

The last sermon is the biggest failure of the film. Whether it's murder or interrogation, you can't do anything without a sense of humor. Kill low-level and incompetent people on a whim, hold a lively banquet as if nothing happened, hide fresh corpses boldly in the living room, put candles on dinner plates on the coffins of friends, drink and eat meat with guests calmly, and talk about philosophy with poise. Carefully plan the most ruthless romantic night, and announce to everyone under the moonlight that none of this actually happened. The execution of murder with such dignity and excellence can only be accomplished by an artist with a philosophical temperament. Indeed, everyone has the right to live and work. God is not qualified to define who is superior or inferior. The ideal of the righteous is equality for all. Yet the world is incomprehensible and darker than the human mind imagines. Some people are more equal than others. A calm and composed soul is always the noblest. After watching the movie, the feeling is that people who love to drink are timid and weak. Because they rely on alcohol to numb themselves to escape the truth. Therefore, warriors who are addicted to exciting adventures should not be in the company of rubbish who are dragging their feet by drinking and having fun.

Rope quotes

  • Mrs. Wilson: [to Janet] If I were you, I would go easy on the pâté, dear. Calories.

  • Brandon: [handing Kenneth a drink] Would you mind taking this in to Janet?

    Kenneth: Sure. Why?

Brandon: No particular reason. I thought you'd like to take it to her. She's in the bedroom.

Kenneth: Then you'd like David to walk in.

Brandon: No, that'd be too much of a shock.
