It is an idealized and responsible adaptation of the original. The photography and music are excellent, and the character details are restored. The two scenes of murder and hanging are particularly well done, serious, beautiful, and not overly sensational. It is hard to forget Perry's confession by the window before his execution. The light and shadow of the rain flowed on his face, no different from tears.

The audio-visual language of the movie is excellent, and there are several scenes that combine reality and illusion. For example, Perry recalls that his mother was beaten by his father when he was a child in Mexico, and Perry imagined that his father pointed a gun at him before killing people. Through these excellent lens language, the director showed Perry's kindness and cruelty, and Dick's weakness and glibness to the fullest.
