The possibilities are endless.
I just watched it on the plane, and it was awesome. The director used mime shots/music to seamlessly switch realistic details according to the plot in the play, just like pinching a poetic touch in the flat ground. Emotional expression is also a part of the humanities of a city connected by personal family history. It is timeless and has a long aftertaste. I watched until the end of the play and the subtitles ended in Space Oddity, a chorus of children's voices. I sigh film, there are really...

Semi-silent films and endorsements in museums
Yesterday I saw the premiere in Taipei. The film tells a relatively homely story. Two girls and boys spanning half a century in black and white, and one in color, all have intersections in a museum in New York, and they are finally found. It's a family.
At the end of the film, the plot of the mystery is revealed. Since they cannot communicate with each other using sign language or lip language, they can only rely solely on the characters' handwriting and the little boy's reading to...

"Surprise in Silence": Falling in love with a city starts with a museum
Todd Hines' new work "Surprise in Silence" is easily reminiscent of two movies that are also stubborn bear children: "Hugo" and "Extraordinarily Loud, Very Close". The original novels and screenwriters of "Hugo" and "Surprise in Silence" are both written by Brian Selznick. In addition to the adventures of bear children, they also have (pointing to silent films) fandom plots; "Special Sound" ", Very Close" shares the story line of "searching for father-healing" with "Surprise in Silence", and...

(Forced to practice hands before the exam) "Surprise in Silence": Rich in simplicity
Viewing the complete film, it seems that the content of the whole film is easy to summarize: the little boy originally went to New York to find his father, and finally met and reunited with his grandmother. But if you think about it carefully, the series of techniques used by the director Todd Hines in the film, such as the contrast between black and white and color images, the two-line parallel narrative, etc., have made the superficial simplicity deep and vivid. And this profoundness and...

Hines version of "Your Name" is the sense of sight
The docking of the two-line narrative is better than that of Desprichin yesterday, and the persuasiveness and the sense of time are still the highlights, but the story is difficult to enter. It is boosted by the tribute music when Moore appeared, this time I really want to say Beauty is beautiful. Hynes's delicacy softened the dislike of bear kids. For me, I really don't understand the characterization of the original film. Half of the movie language is the black and white silent film of the...

The flash of Baoye in the previous paragraph made me curious about the future development, but I didn't expect it to be a children's story at the end. The picture is very beautiful, and the New York Model City really likes it. Julianne Moore once again showed what it means to turn the tide. Recognizing each other's grandparents and remembering the past really brings tears to my eyes, and Hines's directing skills are really not covered. The year's most misplaced work of the...

D+/ It’s a pity that these two hours are full of delicacy... There are too many editing problems in the multi-line narrative films I watched...

The children's family-seeking journey also raises the issue of loneliness in children. The video is a propaganda film of two eras in New York, and the propaganda of the Natural History Museum is also in place. The editing between the two lines is well done. The usual Heins-style photography and music are beautiful and neat, but they are not suitable for this story....
