Flares cannot illuminate memories buried in darkness
Animated documentaries? The first reaction is that animation documentary will not have a fictional feeling? After watching "Waltz with Bashir", I realized that the focus of the documentary is on the reconstruction, restoration and interpretation of facts. Cartoons can do the same or even do better, because animations can have more free expression techniques, filtering out unimportant parts and strengthening the parts that need to be strengthened.
The music of the film is great, the...

From vague dreams to piercing pain
The beginning is cut from the dream, a group of wild dogs running frantically, and the soldiers behind the crazy shooting form an interesting intertext. In the film, the protagonist's dream appears repeatedly, three people lying naked in the river, under the fire of the flares. Under the reflection, I walked to the shore, put on clothes in desperation, and walked into the ruins. Women like ghosts rushed to my face. They all said that dreams are the embodiment of the subconscious. The creator...

It is rare to see such cartoons, the first one is that I grew up in Iran.
This one is even heavier, starting with a conversation between two grown men.
Then a man goes to find the lost memory of which massacre. The only picture he could remember was three people coming out of the water, putting on clothes, and walking.
I have always thought that only a woman's carcass is full of beauty, and a man's naked body does not look good at all. But it suddenly occurred to me that when men...

Today's Reflections - Reflections on the Kinds of Ignorance We've Passivated
In an endless forest, a group of Israeli soldiers were patrolling and killed a Lebanese boy armed with an RPG in time. And the boy, it seemed, was not yet fifteen years old.
At such an age, he should be educated in school. Even in those days, Sidon (a site of the Palestinian Holocaust) didn't have many schools.
Soldiers' machine guns beat the boy into a brush, like so many other boys buried in the rubble of Sidon city.
In this section, the background music is a jumping...

Use words to describe something, but find that all the words you can think of are inaccurate, and all the adjectives you have seen are not powerful enough, and will dilute the color of the thing itself. The older you get, the less likely this happens. The first time in 2009 was when I watched this movie.
Even for a media person like LUC who has been dealing with text all the year round, the film reviews published in the paper media still make people feel that something is missing. Or...

1. The scene has its own tone 2. The transitions from reality to memory are excellent, and it is especially good to draw friends and sons to the dream back to the battlefield 3. Media and images definitely bring new experiences 4. And watching The photos complement the "live" memory to form intertextuality, and the subjective memory constructs the "full picture of experience" of the...

Flares pierced the dark night sky like fireworks, and the soldiers in the dead city waltzed. The deliberately rough animation takes us back to the killing scene. Born as a human being, I am very ashamed to slaughter people of the same kind again and...
Boaz Rein-Buskila: Do you ever have flashbacks from Lebanon?
Ari Folman: No. No, not really.
Anonymous soldier: What to do? What to do? Why don't you tell us what to do?
Ari Folman: Shoot!
Anonymous soldier: On who?
Ari Folman: How should I know on who? Just shoot!
Anonymous soldier: Isn't it better to pray?
Ari Folman: Pray and shoot!
[from trailer]
Ari Folman: After the 1982 invasion of Lebanon, I lost my memory. Now in order to remember, I am looking for those who can never forget.
