Noh uses the body to express feelings and thoughts

I watched it twice, and I almost fell asleep a few times, so I was a little surprised.

I usually watch Akira Kurosawa's movies, because the movies are too interesting, so even the 3-hour Seven Samurai watched them without any pressure, and I was still reluctant to give up after watching them.

This one is not boring, the picture is paradoxical, the character settings are also unique, and the actors' performances are also wonderful, but it just feels sleepy....

      Master Kurosawa, atmosphere first.

A film in the 1950s that was adapted from Shakespeare's famous story, perhaps only Kurosawa Akira completed it best. Undoubtedly, he is a master of atmosphere, and can even be said to be the originator. In black and white images, he brings us a series of human struggles such as desire and demons. You will be involuntarily pulled in by the movie and follow along Confused and sighing together, this is Akira Kurosawa. The performances of Toshiro Mifune and Isuzu Yamamoto perfectly interpret and...

"The death of a man turns into a skeleton of carrion, the stench dissipates, and a fragrance is released"

The soundtrack of the title is always very Japanese-style shakuhachi (?), full of old-fashioned.
"When people die, they turn into carrion skeletons, the stench dissipates, and fragrances are released."
"Human desires are like a tragic battlefield. No matter ancient or modern, they have never changed."
Women instigated men to fight for power and profits, causing tragedy.
After all, the rebel slayer was shot into a hedgehog, and the woman kept washing her hands and saying that...

      Form beauty

Putting this movie to this day, I don't know how many audiences can bear such a slow pace. The general who was lost in the spider forest went back and forth countless times. After discovering the monster, he listened to a whole long section of lyrics before he sternly asked: Who is it? !
The staged indoor drama is another special point. Different from the simple sitcom, such staged drama seems to emphasize a sense of form. Later "Dog Town", "Mishima Yukio"... all have similar attempts....

      The Fall of the Strong

The films of Akira Kurosawa that I have seen before are all stories about ordinary little people who have experienced many twists and turns and finally succeeded. They have a strong personal heroism, which makes the viewer have a deep sense of substitution, and fluctuates with the development of the plot. However, this time it is a story. The protagonist has already climbed to the peak of power, but because of suspicion, greed, misunderstanding of slander, and ultimately self-destruction, it is...

Feudal superstition kills people. Akira Kurosawa's "Macbeth", the master is strong in that he can adapt Shakespeare's drama with a strong Western drama atmosphere into a Japanese-style cautionary fable without any sense of disobedience. The exaggerated performance styles of Japanese films at the time were very capable of rendering the dramatic effects of characters and events. The film begins and ends with a foggy barren mound and solemn chants, highlighting the sad and absurd sense of fate. In...

Akira Kurosawa always integrates Shakespeare tragedies into his own culture so well that it doesn't even seem like an adaptation of a story. Greek tragedy is the fate that people cannot resist, and the reason for Shakespeare's tragedy is human nature. I think the witch of prophecy should not be so surreal, it would be better to be like a...

The hero of a small country, Takashi Kikushima, Hashimoto Shinobu Kurosawa, and the four masters collaborated on the script. This film might not look good. The story is compact and there is almost no scraps. Toshiro Mifune's acting is the highest...

Compared with Rashomon's pure preaching, this drama adapted from "Macbeth" is more watchable, and the description of the characters' inner greed is more realistic and prominent. Personally, I think it is the best movie by Kurosawa Akira after "Seven...

    Behind the scenes gags

Kurosawa originally planned to launch "Throne of Blood" after "Rashomon" in 1950, but after learning that Orson Wells wrote and directed and acted "Macbeth" in 1948, he temporarily Shelve the reorganization plan.
Before the start, Kurosawa only wanted to take the position of producer, but Toho considered the cost to be too high, so it was handed over to Kurosawa to direct.
The original "Throne of Blood" was built at the foot of Mount...

    Creative adaptation

Kurosawa changed the historical background of the film from Scotland in the Middle Ages to the Sengoku period in Japan. He studied the structure of the fortresses of the Warring States Period and found that some fortresses used maze-like forests as protective barriers. This kind of forest was called "spider-foot forest". Once the intruder entered the forest, it seemed as if he could not get out of the spider web. The name of the movie...

    Evaluation action

The film is a metamorphosis, a refinement of the theme of "Macbeth", not an adaptation. It is a unique attempt, the work of a real film creator  . (Evaluated by British film critic Roger Manwell)
Kurosawa borrowed the core of Shakespeare's story, and has been completely localized and completely deconstructed, giving it a brand-new connotation   . The film deconstructs the 17th century Scottish legend into a human tragedy of Eastern...
