I really shouldn't watch the movie after reading the book...

After reading the book, I was full of thoughts on how the book should be adapted into a movie. When reading the book, there are many chapters that I did not carefully sink into, but once I read them all, the whole book forms an impression in my mind. A whole story and a certain emotion doesn't begin until the end of the last paragraph. The movie is not, the movie has not done too many adaptations, and the emotions in it may really only be achieved by novels. On that rock, Quill grabbed Weefey's...

Shipping News: No Shipping, No News

I came here for Judi Dench's acting and Hallstrom's directing, and I felt very disappointed. The whole work does not tell a touching story as the title suggests, but it is different.

This can be felt from the soundtrack of the title. The soundtrack similar to the epic tribal war makes people trance is this watching "Braveheart"? Then the protagonist of the story appeared. Kevin Spacey's usual bitter face and excellent character introduction seemed to make people feel that...

      Ancestor's Call

Strangely, all the good movies I've watched lately have to do with large areas of water.

If the brain occasionally touches on the theme of rooting, everything turns into a magical history. The process of recollection is like drowning, in a chaotic and unknown waters, the twisted waves form a mirror, from which we peer into ourselves. Our limbs, breath, and unruly thoughts together make up the texture of life. That is also our future.

When the middle-aged man in American...

      Short, punchy, dramatic headlines

Billy: "...have a look, what do you see, tell me the headline"

Quoyle: "Horizon fills with dark clouds..."

Billy (shook head): "Imminent storms threaten village"

Quoyle: "but what if no storm comes?"

Billy: "Village spared from deadly storms"

One of the few nice moments in Shipping News-the movie. Otherwise the film felt extremely rushed, took shortcuts whenever possible, often shamelessly. Some supporting roles were wonderfully casted, like the...

"Shipping News" over 140 words film review

Blanchett still has such a hot scene, hello~ However, in terms of coquettish temperament, it is still not as good as Jamie Lee Curtis (upside down the universe)

spacey as Loser, and it still has a touch of academy atmosphere like a school stage play, not as good as Wo Ken is proficient and authentic (get away with it, five dollars for a day)

      haha, bob birch

plays the scriptwriter's thoughts throughout, and a few old opera masks drove through

What kind of love-healing drama is this? It’s scary and terrifying enough, and the filming techniques are so weird. It’s not an exaggeration to say that it’s a fantasy movie, or it’s a horror movie. Man Sao Zhu's stubbornness is really enough to see, there is no romance or sweetness, the rest is only pale, Dennis is tall and handsome, and it's a...

This is supposed to be a healing movie, but it just tells you that everything can be cured, but there is nothing to remember. The lack of a moving power is not just about telling a few legends, being haunted, and bringing together a few broken families. The male protagonist's line of thought is very weak, unable to carry the whole family...

    Evaluation action

Although the film focuses on the mental damage and repair of the protagonist, there are many places where there are factors of suspense, just like opening a banner slowly, and the landscape gradually emerges. Because of the weight of the story, there are some uncomfortable places in the plot. The people in the film lose the ability to see themselves clearly because of lack of communication, especially those close to them. And this...

    Movie quotes

    • Agnis: Takes a year, nephew - full turn of the calendar to get over losin' someone. That's a true saying. The move will help, you'll see. No place on earth could be better than the place your people came from. Smell that clean northern sea?

Quoyle: I'm not a water person.

Agnis: At least the girl is.

Quoyle: I hope we're doing the right thing, Agnis.

Agnis: Thought I'd never come back here. But the older you get - there's an ache, a pull. Something you gotta figure out. Like you're piece in a puzzle.

    • Agnis: We face up to things we're afraid of because we can't go 'round 'em.

    • Silver Melville: Tell him who let our insurance lapse. Wham! Oh, it took six very expensive lawyers to weasel us out of it. An inch from bankruptcy. The moral of the story: when you marry a tour guide, confine his authority to mixing the drinks.

      [stumbles away]

Quoyle: Did I come at a bad time?

Bayonet Melville: Yeah, ten years ago would have been better.
