      Ride my mind away

This really can be regarded as the pinnacle of Western movies! I am very surprised that this film from more than 60 years ago is so sophisticated in photography, color correction, composition, and mirroring. The red and yellow light, the fast revolver, the desert dunes, the Yankees and the Indians, all these western elements are satisfied. As someone who has never seen a Western film, I should expect a Western film, and the door frame silhouette composition at the beginning and end of the...

      last cowboy

Tim Cheng's film review mainly doesn't want to waste screenshots...

In fact, it is quite a coincidence that "Flying Off the Mountains" and this "Searcher" are the same as John Ford and John Wayne. The prologue and epilogue of the western are both John Ford and John Wayne, which can be regarded as a screen legend.

The plot is simple, but the untyped handling is really beautiful and wonderful, and the characters are the same.

What the old cowboy went to find in order to kill...

      From two to four stars

The 1956 movie, I thought it should have been
two hours earlier, the plot is too loose, everything seems a little
      too procrastinated now, the
door frame framing, and the composition of the opening has many times.
Laurie is the best at acting, the most dramatic, and also very beautiful.
I originally gave it two stars, but after a few days, it feels good to look at it again, but the stars are less. The horse-riding scenes are all hard bridges and hard horses, which are...

Probably because of the spirit of pursuit of "destroying people for Yixiao" that moved Uncle Sams

One of the American Film Institute's 100 Years, and one of Spielberg's three most admired films (along with "Lawrence of Arabia" and "What a Wonderful Life").

The plot is as simple as almost all westerns, and the rhythm is a bit slow. It doesn't have the suspenseful feeling of "Noon", nor the moving emotional line of "The Wild Man", nor the plot twists of "The Good and the Bad". Without the epic color of "Red River", it is difficult to understand why Americans regard it as a...

Don't think that only Russia is the fighting nation, you have been forgetting the world police

Atmospheric, majestic, fascinating, the peak film of American traditional culture, and "Gone with the Wind" go hand in hand, if "Gone with the Wind" is the grandmother of American women, "Searcher" is the grandfather of American men, since "Gone with the Wind" Since then, I have never seen such a traditional American film. These two films are the roots and pits of the American nation. The bones, flesh, skin, and appearance of the American nation are all in these two films. Hatred but...

John Wayne is really domineering, but unfortunately the quality of the picture affects the look and feel, I prefer the ending is that the little girl will stay in the Indian tribe...

John Wayne in John Ford's lens always looks so tall and mighty, like a hero. But this time Wayne is a tramp with an unknown criminal record, not only not a hero, but a very complex amoral character. The gun battlefield at the end of the film is very beautiful, the photography, especially the door frame composition, is really beautiful, and the music is also beautiful. The most rare thing is that on the basis of traditional western films, it proposes a reflection on the...

It is said that it is the first part of the model show? Even with the limitations of the times, those shots of Indians are still extremely dazzling and annoying. Wayne Hei has remained the same throughout his life, and this guy is simply pretending to be a...

Good looking and humorous. First compare the discriminatory attitudes towards Indians in previous Westerns. This film does not defend the Indians, but just tells the audience, look, the heroes you worship are no different from the...

I rubbed it, this film is actually from 1956, it's a bunker, I didn't want to watch it at first, the retro style of the picture is really unimpressive, what about the plot, the front is not bad, the back is a little muddy, look This film is paired with the recently known Eggy, and I have to sigh with emotion - the girls in Europe and the United States have grown really...

    Evaluation action

One of John Wayne's best films, the director not only presents the vast desert scenery and adventurous spirit that advertises the vast expanse of western movies, but also made a deep depiction of the face of inter-ethnic conflict at that time. (Comment by "Chicago Sun Times")
This film is hailed as the best film in the history of Western films. In the film, he created the most complex, critical and profound sketches of the Western...

    Movie quotes

    • Mose Harper: [preparing for an Indian attack] That which we are about to receive, we thank thee, O Lord.

    • Martin: [speaking to Debbie for the first time in five years] Debbie, Debbie, Debbie, don't you remember? I'm Martin, I'm Martin, your brother, remember? Debbie, remember back.

Martin: [pause] Do you remember how I used to let you ride my horse? And tell you stories? Oh, don't you remember me, Debbie?

Debbie Edwards: I remember, from always. At first I prayed to you: "Come and get me, take me home." You didn't come.

Martin: But I've come now, Debbie.

Debbie Edwards: These are my people. Go. Go, Martin, please!

    • Laurie Jorgensen: [Martin is preparing to join a raid against the Indians and rescue Debbie] You're not goin', not this time.

      Martin: Are you crazy?

Laurie Jorgensen: It's too late. She's a woman grown now.

Martin: But I gotta go, Laurie, I gotta fetch her home.

Laurie Jorgensen: Fetch what home? The leavings of a Comanche buck, sold time and again to the highest bidder, with savage brats of her own?

      Martin: Laurie, shut your mouth.

Laurie Jorgensen: Do you know what Ethan will do if he has a chance? He'll put a bullet in her brain.

      [pause]

Laurie Jorgensen: I tell you, Martha would want him to.

      Martin: Only if I'm dead.
