If I say, cover your face and cry when you see the middle, is it a bit 13

This is a Chinese translation. I borrowed randomly from the community library. Still rely on English subtitles.
The movie lasts 2 hours and 55 minutes. There is still a break in between. Watching the first half of the episode, the heartache is unbearable. Burst into tears.
      Baidu’s introduction said,
“The film uses an American gunboat sailing to China in 1925 as the storytelling stage. The protagonist Heman is a seaman on the boat and likes to hide in the engine room on the ground...

      Review of the Sand Pebbles

An American friend recommended me to watch this film, and there is also the painted veil. This is the reply after watching:

      Dear Jim,

Thank you for the movies you lent me. Both are great
movies. But if I were American, I would enjoy it more
because these movies are very American in the way
      heroes are defined and made.

But as a Chinese, Sand Pebbles sometimes upsets me
because it seems to make Chinese look like nothing but
      mobs who twist...

[3.5/5.0] This film has been instilling the concept that Jiang Kaixue is the savior of the powerful people, only the final offensive and defensive battle is...

See the big from the small, transparent. Disillusionment again and again, in the end, it was all useless (rescue Louis Malle's later wife is probably a commercial consideration) I don't know who added Sammo Hung to the cast list, but I didn't see it at all, nor on...

The sea battle scenes and endings are excellent. The director focuses more on literary drama, starting from the perspective of Holman, through this unflattering middleman, and exploring the impact of war on places and people from a cultural perspective. The love line is weak and overall a bit...

    Movie plot

The protagonist Herman is a seaman on the boat. He likes to work in the engine room on the ground floor. Unexpectedly, after the gunboat stationed in China, he forced him to jump on the deck to deal with political and cultural pressures from various quarters. The development of the complex situation changed his independent personality. The whole film has the style of an epic movie, a melee of a Chinese galleon is unique and impressive,...

    Evaluation action

In the film "The Sand Pebbles", the coolies working on gunboats on the Yangtze River (the film’s story is set to be China in the 1930s) is portrayed from a sympathetic perspective. However, this film still seriously distorted historical facts, wrongly portraying China's social environment as "full of hostility towards Westerners."
In the film, while rescuing a Western missionary kidnapped by the local Chinese, the gunboat was also...

    Movie quotes

    • Captain Collins: Holman, I'll have you shot as a mutineer!

      Jake Holman: Well shoot something!

    • Frenchy Burgoyne: [exchanging marriage vows; slowly and with feeling] We're mixing our lives together, Maily, and we'll never be able to unmix them again, and we'll never want to. I take you for what you are, and all that you are, and mix you with all of me, and I don't hold back nothing. When you're cold, and hungry, and afraid, so am I. I'm going to stay with you all that I can, take the best care of you that I can, and love you 'til I die.

Maily: I will always love you and honor you and serve you, and stay as near to you as I can, and do everything for you, and live for you. I won't have *any* life except our life together. I will just love you, Frenchy, all of me, loving you forever.

    • Captain Collins: Pray for an early spring... or permission to open fire.
