      Fantastic Jane Austen

The movie didn't attract me as I imagined.
Maybe I didn't know Jane Austen well enough. Maybe I only read "Pride and Prejudice" and I didn't understand how Austen's story could have such a magical impact on the lives of the protagonists in the movie. Impact.
The six book club members described in the film love Jane Austen's books so much, they discuss her books, and when they need to make choices in life, they think: What would Jane Austen do? I don't think it resonates with me in...

Borrow someone else's pen to read your own story

I have asked many people, what attitude should we take to study? Exhausted, read the truth, and exhausted the author's password through text editing? Still pay attention to the process of decoding yourself, although this process is likely to permeate too many subjective experiences, values, cognitions, attitudes and emotions. The former is often desirable but not desirable. Without much experience, it is difficult for us to empathize, and we are likely to face the situation of...

      chain reaction of reading

N years ago, because I read the novel "Pride and Prejudice", I was deeply impressed. Later, I went to see the movie "Pride and Prejudice", and then watched <>! Once again, because of Jane Austen's charisma, I came to "The Jane Austen Book Club" to see it!
The six people in the play have different emotional trajectories and encounter different confusions in life, but they gather together because they like Jane Austen's books, discuss Jane Austen in the book club,...

      Find a common language

      A movie to watch again.
Jane's works have only seen "Pride" and "Li",
so I don't feel that Jane saved everyone's life.
These 6 people came together because they were all interested in Jane's works. Several such as emily and her husband finally finished reading a book together and reconciled, jane's works are just a medium, maybe there are other mediums, the movie can also be renamed xxx book club, in short, the deepest feeling is that everyone needs to communicate with each...

Our love takes us to find our world

It's the first time I've watched a film in so many nights and I'm so happy~~~ I
really like this story. Not a story of a story.
This is the life of every book lover.
No matter who you like, no matter what kind of book you like, you see the world and yourself in the book.
In the book you see how others deal with life, and you see how you have dealt with your own life.
You are comforted, moved, and educated in the book. Even at some point, it will save you.
      So we...

    Evaluation action

"The Jane Austen Book Club" allows those who are familiar with Austen to have a deeper understanding of the charm of Austen's novels. Movie quotes

    • Bernadette: Let us never underestimate the power of a well-written letter.

    • Daniel Avila: I was just thinking about something Allegra said at Jocelyn's the other day...so we're talking about how we all need to have connection, you know, conversation, sex, companionship, and Allegra says, "Well, you get all that from Mommy." I have to tell you, it really made me sad.

Sylvia Avila: Aw, baby, she'll find somebody.

Daniel Avila: No, it made me sad for us, because I've been struggling with whether a marriage can sustain all of that over, uh, over 20+ years or if it's just inevitable that after a certain amount of time-- maybe being with somebody else can have a renewing effect, because for me-- I've been seeing a woman at work. We've been together 6 months now . . . We, we can't think of this as a failure. We have had a very successful marriage. We've had a long marriage, by any standard. We got 3 wonderful kids. They're grown, they're working, they're--

Sylvia Avila: Just open the damn door, Daniel, I need a tissue.

Daniel Avila: The kids, that's, that's all you, you know, you made all the sacrifices, I know. But there's a logic to us quitting while we're ahead, and I think they'll be able to see that, you know?

Sylvia Avila: I don't understand a single word of what you're saying, Daniel.

    • Sylvia Avila: She

      [Jocelyn]

Sylvia Avila: used to date my husband in high school. Then she sort of... gave him to me. Daniel's the one who first bought Jocelyn a dog.

Grigg Harris: She traded your husband for a dog?
