      The Help--Discrimination Is Everywhere

The little girl who took care of growing up became a white lady like her mother... Minnie said to her daughter, who dropped out of school to become a maid, when you make coffee for white people, put it on the table and don't hand it to them because you can't touch your hands, you can't talk back, you can't talk back, my girl... Minnie met a very good family this time, and the host was so kind. He invited Minnie to...

"Help" is suitable for watching when you are very tired, there will be some comforting emotions

This movie has been known for a long time and is in my collection.

Seeing this movie will remind you of several other movies "Hidden Figures", the style and type are a bit similar, but the era is different. The same plot is that because of their skin color, they cannot share a bathroom with whites. When going to the toilet, they need to go through an entire building to go to the black-only toilet; they need to go to the open-air toilet outside the...

White editor publishes what happened to a group of black maids

Rainy days on weekends are the best time to make up for the drama. I just finished watching this "Help". Like the "Hidden Figures" I watched yesterday, it is related to racial discrimination. That one happened to NASA Kochi scientists, this one is What happened between white housewives and black servants all reflected the separation of eating and toileting, etc.

Freedom if you can tell the truth

Finished watching the movie in fragments of night and day

The maid, who was brought up from childhood to adulthood, cried when she was fired. The loving and kind black woman encountered setbacks when the heroine was a child and took care of her in every possible way in her daily life. She gave her spiritual guidance and made the heroine independent. Strong and confident, there are too many commendable things in a simple person. In the end, the book...

I like this kind of movie with bright colors and smooth plot

I watched the movie "The Help" yesterday, and there was a small episode during the movie. There was an earthquake. I haven't felt such a strong feeling for a long time, but it's okay, I panicked for a few seconds and continued to watch the movie calmly.

This movie is really good. It also tells the story of equal rights for blacks in the United States in the 1950s and 1960s. The previous views on racial discrimination were limited to this point of view and did not have a deep...

It's about helping the unequal status of black maids in the 1960s. Every time, I am moved by the fact that this country has faced up to its own wrong history and tried to correct them again and...

    Movie plot

The story takes place in Mississippi in the southern United States in 1962, where society is still deeply shrouded in the shadow of "black slavery". Black servants still exist in many families and have encountered unequal treatment. The 22-year-old white girl Skeet Phelan (Emma Stone) is an ordinary girl who grew up in this land. Today, she has completed her university studies and returned to her hometown. Having received a good...

    Create background

The film "Help" is adapted from Catherine Stockcott's novel of the same name published in 2009. Once the novel was published, it received great praise and rave reviews. Today, when the president of the United States is already black, creating another novel about racism that took place in the 1960s does require a certain amount of courage to "risk the world". Catherine is not young. Born in 1969, she has been working in the publishing...

    Shooting process

Because for a long period of time, Mississippi was the "hardest hit area" of racism in the United States. Out of respect for history, out of consideration for the content of the novel, and the tax system in the United States, the film crew gave up the planned location in Louisiana and rushed to Mississippi to shoot the film.
Greenwood, the film’s original planned location, is an underdeveloped area. In Taylor’s description, this place...

    Evaluation action

"Help" is definitely not only a classic that exposes the ugliness of the times, it should be praised as "a stunning, warm and sweet song of hope". (Tencent Review)
The roles of the three women in the film are portrayed extremely plump. In a sense, these characters made this movie. The actor's performance is also very good. (Hubpages website review)
"Help" should never be positioned as a classic that exposes the ugliness of the...

    Movie quotes

    • Celia Foote: There you are! I'm starved. Looks so good!

[sits down with Minny to have lunch]

Minny Jackson: We done been over this, Miss Celia. You're supposed to eat in the dining room, that's how it works. Here, let me take your plate back.

Celia Foote: [assertively, yet with respect, holding her plate] I'm fine right here, Minny.

    • Minny Jackson: [Johnny's escorted Minny to the house where Celia has an elegant meal on the table] What's this?

Celia Foote: [proudly] I cooked it all by myself.

Johnny Foote: Yes she did. She was up all night.

Celia Foote: I wanted to do something special. I wanted to say thank you.

Minny Jackson: So, I ain't losing my job?

Celia Foote: [shaking her head in surprise] No.

Johnny Foote: You have a job here for the rest of your life. If you want it.

Minny Jackson: [smiles in acceptance] That's a mile high meringue, Miss Celia?

    • Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan: What the hell? What are you doing here?

[Hilly throws her cigarette at Skeeter]

Hilly Holbrook: I contacted my lawyer. Hibby Goodman? He is the best libel attorney in the state. Oh, Missy, you are going to jail!

Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan: You can't prove anything!

Hilly Holbrook: Oh, I 100% know you wrote it, 'cause nobody in this town is as tacky as you!

Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan: [Pokes Hilly] You don't know anything, Hilly!

Hilly Holbrook: [Shoves Skeeter] Oh, I don't, do I? You tell Abilene the next time she wants to write about my good friend Elizabeth... Hm? Remember her? Had you in her wedding?... Let's just say Abilene should have been a bit smarter before writing about that L-shaped scratch in poor Elizabeth's dining table.

      [takes off her sunglasses]

Hilly Holbrook: And that nigger Minny... do I have plans for her.

Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan: Careful, Hilly. That's chapter 12.

      [Hilly gasps]

Eugenia 'Skeeter' Phelan: Don't give yourself away now.

Hilly Holbrook: That was not me!
