The Grandmaster--This Is An Empty Movie

Blockbuster aura Blockbuster special effects, A-list actors, and a scumbag plot I just wonder if mainland directors can keep their feet on the ground and not float on the top of a tree like a grandmaster? Are you stitching the movie together? Or show how high your level is? I don’t even dare to say it’s not good after watching it because I’m afraid someone will say that it’s not because the movie is not good or because you lack understanding. I'm not confident anymore. I miss those...

"The Grand Master": Female Heroes in the Martial Arts World

"The Grandmaster" is a kung fu film directed by Hong Kong director Wong Kar-wai, starring Zhang Ziyi, Zhang Zhen and Tony Leung. After the film was released, it achieved a good box office, and Zhang Zhen also won the first place in the Eight Boxing Award. The most shocking performance in the film is Zhang Ziyi's performance. As the protagonist, she is the successor of the master Ye Wen. Although she is a woman, she has the arrogance of being a woman, and she is not timid in the face of...

      the Grand Master

Wong Kar Wai's films make people want to take screenshots. Zhang Ziyi is beautiful and Tony Leung is very tasteful. The whole film is a little sad, regretful and helpless. People are floating in the rivers and lakes. Morality, important situation, can not be too emotional, summed up in one line, from now on I only have the road ahead, no back, no turning back. Zhang Ziyi's Gong Er is undoubtedly the soul. The cold face, a touch of red lips, and muttering are the most lingering shots in...

      Yan control party expressed satisfaction

I've always wanted to see it, Zhang Ziyi's Gong Er and Tony Leung's Ip Man are so famous, I never thought that they were the works of the King of Sunglasses. I always felt that his style should be the kind of dim, dark, yellow, and depressing and storytelling. The most he said in the whole process was that he couldn't understand it, which was like him. Every little character is a surprise, it's all about the benefits of Yan control. If you don't understand the plot, then you can see Yan...

The alias should be "Mr. Gong Baosen's Academic Thought Seminar"

The most common occurrences in this film are "your dad said it" and "my dad said it". Ye Wen and Gong Er didn't need to say, even before Ma San died: Master said, the old ape hangs the seal, and the gate is turning back.

So let's expand. If the whole film is about the academic thoughts of the first-level professor Gong Baosen, what might the actual corresponding plot be?

      1. In the beginning
, Ip Man gave a presentation at a seminar. A certain panda (Iron Shoe Seven) got...

I don't know if Wong Kar Wai's personal style can't control such a big narrative structure, or if such a story is not suitable for Wong Kar Wai's style. In short, the shooting is still very beautiful, but the narrative is completely loose, and the emotional expression of the King of Sunglasses is not...

I still don't like this kind of "in the cloud" lines, especially in the absence of background foreshadowing, the necessity is very questionable. The photography is beautiful, but the weighted connection between the several threads lacks a strong emotional bond. There is a desire for self-breakthrough, but no substantial progress has been achieved, far less than "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". It's very disappointing to shoot this result with the luxury of money and time that other directors...

4.5 First of all, I really like this movie! I watched it very high from the beginning to the end, and I would like to watch it again. The US version does have many differences, it is a little more compact, and of course it reflects the amount of material. . . Zhang Zhen's line has changed completely. Liang Chaowei and Zhang Ziyi are both very handsome, and the love story of the King of Sunglasses is really the same for...

I'm probably the only one in the audience who watched it for the first time... Wong Kar-wai is still amazing. He shot the heroic demeanor that is only found in martial arts novels. He has charm and pomp, and everyone's close-ups are outrageous and poisonous. German University. The only thing that is uncomfortable is that there are too many golden sentences in the king...

To Qifeng said that Wang Jiawei only made one movie of Ah Fei, and after the evil in the east and the west, he was in a drunken world. Ye Wen and Gong Er are both lonely people lost in the game of time. Fragmented action clips, rain and snow are all freehand, ambiguous light and shadow, staring expressions, collage and narration. Fate, missed and met again. Each scene has its own flavor, especially art performances, sound and...

    Creative background

Wong Kar-wai accidentally saw a video taken 3 days before Yip Man passed away. A pause in Yip Man's punching aroused Wong Kar-wai's interest in martial arts. After learning about many martial arts schools, Wong Kar-wai wanted to reproduce the ecology of martial arts through the preparation of "The Grandmaster". In order to obtain more historical information, he spent three years visiting more than 100 folk kung fu masters from various...

    Preparation for shooting

It took 10 years for the film to be prepared from 2001 to the official shooting.
Tony Leung Chiu Wai did his best to make "The Grandmaster". Tony Leung Chiu Wai was not a martial artist, unlike Donnie Yen , who had a kung fu background, he was like a blank sheet of paper, and he practiced hard with Yip Man’s closed disciple Liang Shaohong before he turned it on. Kungfu finally has a solid foundation for Wing Chun Kungfu, for which he...

    Taste and emotion

Throughout the Chinese film scene in 2013, "The Grandmaster" was an outstanding film. Wong Kar-wai is going through his old work with his iconic slowness. "The Grandmaster" is good-looking because it has a taste. It spans time and takes pictures of history. In the battles in the martial arts, the nostalgia and nostalgia for the past era are presented. His movies always like to talk about time, and "The Grandmaster" also has many scenes...

    Visual feast

Tony Leung Chiu Wai battle in the rain, Zhang Ziyi and Max Zhang platform duel and other scenes, visual effects, action design, martial arts sound effects, etc. are all regarded as outstanding Chinese movies. (Netease Entertainment Review) I see more elegance in the movie. Every fight is like a ritual. We feel the respect between the two sides, which adds a sense of sacredness to the fight, plus Cantonese folk songs. The soundtrack of...

    Movie quotes

    • Gong Er: Every great age presents a choice: to go forward, or stay back. I prefer to stay back, in the happiest times of my life.

    • [last lines]

Ip Man: They say I spread wing chung throughout the world. I hope that's true. I didn't do it to acquire renown. The martial arts should be open to all, everyone should walk the same route. It all comes down to two words: Horizontal, Vertical.

    • Gong Er: This opera of mine, applauded or not, will play on to the end. I asked you here to bring things to a close and say what needs to be said.

Ip Man: Are you going somewhere?

Gong Er: We have a saying in the North - a tiger never quits the mountain. We've both been living on foreign soil. I'm so very tired. I want to go home. But I wanted to return this to you first. As for the 64 Hands, I've already forgotten them. I was lucky to meet you in my prime. Sadly, my time is running out. To say there are no regrets in life, is just to fool yourself. How boring it would be without regrets. Mr. Ip, to tell you the truth, I cared about you. I don't mind telling you that. It's not a crime to love. But that's all it can ever be. I never said that to anyone before. Seeing you tonight, I don't know why, it just came out. Let's say we suspend this game of chess between us. Take care.

Ip Man: In life, as in chess, a move once made stays on the board. What we have is simply fate. Your father once said, never give up the faith. Keep the light burning. I hope that one day I'll see the 64 Hands once more.
