      When one challenges fate

I heard that Paul Newman is dead.
I don’t feel much about him. He is vaguely depressed and handsome in several old black and white films. The
only movie I have watched seriously is "The True Colors of Money".
Objectively speaking, this movie is very good and the story tells quite well.
Since I also watched "Twelve Angry Men" that night, I fell silent in my excitement and anxiety.
If this movie is taken out separately, it is still a pretty good movie.

Paul Newman: He doesn’t just live in time

When death comes, whisper to me:
          "Your days are exhausted."
          Let me say to him:
"I don't just live in time,
          I live in love."
He will ask: "Will your song be passed on? "
          I would say: "I don't know,
          I only know that when I sing , I
          often find my eternity."

Sound and music effects of some scenes in The Colour of Money

      #1 Diegetic Sound Effect

In a movie, diegetic sound can be a very effective way to grab the attention of characters, and also the attention of the audience. At the beginning of The Colour of Money, the conversation between Eddie and his girlfriend is interrupted five times. This is to generally move his attention to the other main character, Vincent Laura. It also makes the audience begin to notice and focus on a new character. The process of the whole transition is done smoothly. When...

      The true color of money

The story is about two billiard players. Eddie, played by Paul Newman, is a billiards veteran with many years of bargaining. Tom Cruise plays a young literary student with great courage and bravery, self-willedness and arrogance. Eddie discovered Vincent in the bar, and later after Eddie's training, Vincent became a smart gambler. Later in the huge billiards game in Atlantic City, after a bitter battle, Eddie finally defeated Vincent and won. However, he soon learned that this was just a small...

As a sports-themed movie, the shooting angle of each game, the movement of the camera, and the switching of scenes are so consummate that I admire them so much. It turned out to be Martin...

3.5 The actors are quite good. Newman Tom and even Whitaker's skills are quite good. At first I thought it was a match between old and young, and it developed into a road movie and then the last stop of a space cowboy-like twilight hero. In the end, it finally stretched out and turned into a bloody return of the veteran's rekindled fighting spirit to find his dignity and his true colors and money to stand aside. But just losing to Whitaker and wearing glasses doesn't highlight Newman's...

I watched it at first because it was a billiard theme, but it was actually just an embellishment. The film focuses on the series of changes that the "old hero" represented by Paul Newman encounters when he encounters "newcomers" like Tom Cruise. The film is slow-paced, the two young leading actors have poor acting skills, and there are many brilliant points in the editing of the...

With the help of Vincent’s girlfriend Carlo, Eddie persuaded Vincent and took them on the road to Atlantic City. The young and energetic Vincent was brave and self-willed, and missed many opportunities to win money, which made Eddie worry a lot. But...

    Evaluation action

The film has a lot of ball performances, and the charm of billiards can be described as vividly and vividly. However, the handling of each game is different. There are detailed and slightly different, and there is no sense of repetition. Moreover, the development of the plot and the psychological changes of the characters are closely linked to each game of the game, which can be described as a seamless combination. From the game after...

    • Eddie Felson: Did you ever hear of a hustle called Two Brothers and a Stranger?

Vincent Lauria: Yeah, uh, that's the guy in the Bible with the many colored coats, right?

[grins widely; Eddie and Carmen look disgusted]

Vincent Lauria: Hey, what's wrong with you guys? It's a joke, okay?

Eddie Felson: Did I get through to you last night, kiddo? 'Cause if I didn't, I'll run it by you another way. If you'd have kicked ass in any other place but Chalkie's, Atlantic City would be dead for us. The Guys Never Leave The Street. Otherwise, it'd be all around.

    • Eddie Felson: Human moves, kid. You study the watch... while I study you.

    • Eddie Felson: This ain't pool. This is for bangers. Straight pool is pool. This is like hand-ball, or cribbage, or something. Straight pool, you gotta be a real surgeon to get 'em, you know? It's all finesse. Now, every thing is nine-ball, 'cause it's fast, good for T.V., good for a lot of break shots... Oh, well. What the hell. Checkers sells more than chess.
