      cruel gentle village

If it weren't for Sofia Coppola's high-profile remake, I think "Under the Peony" would have been even less well-known and even forgotten. The starring turned out to be East Wood, who once again collaborated with Don Siegel. Literally translated as "deceived", based on a Southern Gothic novel (by Thomas Cullinan) found somewhere (and a... weirder "Lone Ranger"), I think it should be with Gothic The noir novels adapted by Dahl and others have been forgotten as well. The Chinese...

The plot and the characters are so unexpected

No wonder Sofia Coppola will remake this old work from the 1970s. The plot direction and characters are too unexpected. The wonderful suspense makes me want to stop, and the sudden ending makes me think more. The traditional confrontation between the status of men and women, the dislocation of gender and power, and the implied political metaphors provide the audience with a variety of interpretation entrances.

Clint Eastwood, who has always been in the movie world as a tough guy,...

In addition to physical strength, polygamy requires sufficient power and resources.

Headmistress: The reason is that she lacks male needs for a long time and the manor needs strong labor; her reason is incest with her own brother, and she will lose her solemn image and respect after being exposed; but the consequences of offending are black-bellied and the most ruthless. The first is to kill with a knife, instructing the little girl to pick poisonous mushrooms, the second is to make up a reason to break your leg and keep it as a sex slave, and the least is to give it to the...

Three and a half. The 71-year-old Siegel version is full of religious and erotic hints, including flashbacks of brother and sister incest in stream of consciousness, and retrospective hints of black maids. The spring dream scene, which links religion with lust, is the composition of the Virgin mourning Christ. Lust is the most basic politics, "control" and "controlled", a group of women and intruding men rely on lust and strength to constantly struggle and pull. Sawed legs can be linked to...

A very special Dongmu movie, peony flowers are also romantic, but the most poisonous is a woman's heart. The psychological confrontation between a lecherous man and a sexually repressed woman is dramatic, and the castration meaning of the "Single Foot" in the second half is self-evident. Unlike Don Siegel's director, which is full of gothicism, dream-composition and inner reading, the classical form reminds me of "Picnic on the...

    • Cpl. John McBurney: Why should I have denied myself after all I'd been through? You wanted to be so much the God damn lady. The virgin bitch. Get out of here. Get out of here!

    • Amy: You were in her room. Why? And she was all naked. And I, and I thought you loved me!

    • Cpl. John McBurney: I'd welcome some wine, though.

Martha Farnsworth: You might welcome it; but, you won't get it. Undo your trouser leg.
