      Shoot for Florence

#WatchingMovies, New Year’s Day#The first day of the first year: It is definitely a good movie that was delayed by the name. It's hard to say who is the protagonist, it's more like a group play of a group of women. And the male Luca is a link that wears the whole plot.

Although the ambassador's wife was mean and old-fashioned, she contributed a lot of British jokes. She was under house arrest and did not forget to teach Italian soldiers how to speak...

"Drinking Tea with Mussolini": Some temperaments need to be persistent

On the eve of the Second World War, a group of women from various social backgrounds often went to the British Embassy in Italy to have tea and chat with the ambassador’s wife, and comment on culture and art. The petty bourgeoisie life can be regarded as an enjoyable trip. At the beginning of the war, amidst rumors, the wife of the British ambassador went to Mussolini's office angrily to ask whether the personal safety of everyone would be guaranteed. Mussolini has a gentlemanly demeanor, and...

      A Wonderful Film

When I saw the cover of the movie, I didn't expect this to be the fate of an old lady whose fate is closely linked to war.

The film was shot in the beautiful capital of art, Florence, Italy. The Italian scenery at the beginning immediately takes the audience to sunny southern Italy, and of course the era of gentlemen and ladies. The seemingly humble little boy and old lady are walking on the streets of Florence, where the story slowly unfolds. The story of the little boy Luca and Miss...

      The formation of love

Beautiful and elegant emerald, towers, British cemetery, reporters, memorial service, 1935.6.29 in front of Elizabeth Browning's tomb, that day Elizabeth will never sleep in her husband's arms. Yes, it was the famous poetess who had been paralyzed for 24 years, married her 6-year-old husband at the age of 39 and miraculously stood up and walked on her own. Their married life has always been in Italy, so they are buried here to the dust. Arabella played by Judy, the...

Drive low and go high, never forgetting

I watched a "Drinking Tea with Mussolini" on the weekend. The film is much more exciting than the title, driving low and going high, with endless surprises.

The story takes place on the eve of World War II. A group of middle-aged and elderly British women are resident in Florence. They go to the Uffizi Gallery to drink tea every day and watch paintings. Fainted). Of course, I also don't forget the true nature of the British, and the black belly is...

It is a very comfortable and pleasant film. Let's see what a film is called, why not eat minced meat? World War II from the perspective of the stubborn aristocracy, the pictures unfolding gracefully in the art gallery, the black tea party and the rose-colored glass windows, who can not chase the train for the sake of it The old ladies reciting Shakespeare with tears are moving... After all, Zeffirelli is such a director who really loves art, and those old women are so noble and...

The movie full of laughter and tears is quite healing (and the most healing I have seen recently), especially the last text about Luca. A group of British old ladies with very different but very similar personalities saved a teenager and saved...

    Movie quotes

    • Elsa Morganthal Strauss-Armistan: Why are you helping me? You always hated me.

Lady Hester: Because we're creatures from two different worlds, you and I. Because I have despised you. And you have laughed at me and the Scorpioni. And because in spite of all that, you've been very kind to us and kept it a secret. And because we've both been very foolish women. We've both trusted men who've turned out to be bastards.

      Elsa Morganthal Strauss-Armistan: Vittorio.

      Lady Hester: And Mussolini.

    • [during Elsa's escape]

Elsa Morganthal Strauss-Armistan: Are you trying to get rid of me?

      Lady Hester: Absolutely.

    • Lady Hester: Americans. They can even vulgarize ice cream.
