His grave was empty, but full of ghosts

      (Spoilers, beware)

"There are eight million people in this city, eight million loneliness, and eight million ways to die."

First time wanting to write something for a movie. as a small feeling.

I refuse to call this a comment. (It's not really a comment, just to put some screenshots that I like.)

I don't know where I heard about this movie, I haven't read the synopsis, and I...

      Still Life

It's been a long time since I've seen a movie that appealed to me.

Whether it's the film's beautiful framing, muted tones, or the soundtrack that flows slowly like a stream, and the well-timed long shots, I'm deeply attracted.

An ordinary story, a great movie

      • I have never imagined that such a story could make such an attractive film to watch quietly. The whole process of the film is very clean, every shot is handled very well, and the film is supported by an actor!
      • Mei's last accidental death, like the elegant finale of a hedgehog, suddenly reminded me of the line "Are you ready for love?" in one of Leslie Cheung's songs. Is it sadness? Is it joy? Is it hope? then...

Accidentally and cranky - a short thought on "Still Life"

(This is not a good start to plan to win the Autumn Film Festival badge in 45 hours? Finished 1/8)

Those who like to live in the past are those who truly respect life and fear life. But sometimes they get too nostalgic, and gradually derail from future realities. And those who yearn for the future often claim to be more alive, and some of them are at war with the sinking of the past due to extremeization. It can be found by weighing the above two...

Probably no one will come to our funeral|

I saw a movie last night called "A Silent Life", or it has a more straightforward translation, "Farewell without Attendance". With minimal cinematic language and restrained emotional expression, Uberto Pasolini speaks of the loneliness and death of modern man. It fits right in with the current pandemic, the death and its prelude—disease, the loneliness of isolation, and those...

"Funerals are for the living." On being friends with the dead, loneliness comes from heaven but returns to dust. A shadow of cumin, no ups and downs and misty / One person, one world, pity that the world treats you unfairly. There is a table and desk that can only accommodate one person, and a cup with a dog pattern. No one weaves a eulogy for you / no one embeds you in a photo album / no one goes to an appointment. The loneliest person doesn't want others to be lonely, so their beautiful life...

It was so sad, I couldn't help crying. If I were to choose the loneliest film and television image, I would definitely vote for Mr. Mei. A man who is unsmiling is expressionless most of the time. Only when he shows a very faint smile will he feel that he is still an angry person. Although there were no ups and downs in the whole plot, and no deliberate sensationalism, Mr. Mei's every move made people feel sad. His life was so simple that it could even be described as dull: eating the simplest...

John May: I understand... I also have to wear this stuff at work sometimes.

Factory Worker: You're in food processing, too, then? Baking?

John May: Baking? No. No, not really baking. I'm actually a... Well, I only have to wear this when I see people.

      Factory Worker: People?

John May: Yes. I mean people, uh... who, who don't bake anymore.

    • Shakthi: Hear that?... Managed to fight both management and union reps about the afternoon break... He won us five extra minutes, then, uh, fucked off... Just, uh, just packed it in... But before he does that, what does he do?... Pisses in a vat of pork meat. Some of the batch got through... Pies never tasted so good... Here, have one.
