The Germans were defeated, too many people died, and they had to cede land and pay indemnities. They had nothing to gain from the war, and they still lost money.
Americans still talk about growing mushrooms (throwing atomic bombs) and BBQ (bombing Tokyo). They won, occupied Japan, played with Japanese women, and enjoyed Japan's "tribute" (cheap commodities, buying US national debt).
Although the Russians suffered heavy casualties, they packed their machines from the German...

Every time I watch a war movie, my heart is always extremely depressed. The Battle of Stalingrad was the bloodiest battle in modern history. Millions of people on both sides of the Soviet Union died. The most terrible thing in the war is not the physical pain, but the spiritual destruction. A group of young soldiers with vigor and vitality, they harbored hope for their hometown and their relatives, but they were finally engulfed in this icy war. The last lines and scenes of the film were...

German director Josef Wilsmayer's excellent work describing the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II from a German perspective.
The Battle of Stalingrad was an unprecedented defeat for Germany in World War II, and it was also a major turning point in the European battlefield. The Soviet Red Army blocked the bombardment of German artillery and aircraft with its own flesh. While describing the battle, the film attempts to explore how the two victims changed their fate due to the war....

Looking at the Battle of Stalingrad from the German perspective is much more interesting and profound than from the Soviet perspective. It is not entirely an anti-war gesture, nor does it have much humanistic spirit, but more of an in-depth understanding of the essence of the soldier Analysis of : Take the battlefield as home, live for war, live and die with guns and...

The production can be quite rough, the war scenes, the sets, all reveal a small family atmosphere. There is also a big problem with the script. It seems that the whole screen is full of cowards who are scared by the war. I know that the theme of this film is to establish an anti-war stance by expressing people's fear, but this theme is clearly overstated. The actors are also pretty...

is this real? Is this a blitzkrieg of Poland, a raid on the German army in France? Can such a narrative explain the real reasons for the victory or defeat of the war?...

Otto: You know we don't stand a chance. Why not surrender?
Capt. Hermann Musk: You know what would happen if we do.
Otto: Do we deserve any better?
Capt. Hermann Musk: Otto, I'm not a Nazi.
Otto: No, you're worse. Lousy officers. You went along with it all, even though you knew who was in charge. Hermann...
