The saddest romance movie I've ever watched

      To Eternity(william wordsworth)

What though the radiance which was once so bright
Be now for ever taken from my sight,
Though nothing can bring back the hour
Of splendor in the grass, of glory in the flower
We will grieve not, but rather find
      Strength in what remains behind.

The once splendid and beautiful scenery
is gone forever from my eyes.
There is no more glorious sunshine
      , magnificent grassland,
      and gorgeous flowers
      ....

      Splendor in the Grass

It works wonders when beautiful verses are weaved in with plots, especially as motifs. It struck you time and time again and made an ever so strong echo in your mind and heart.

William Wordsworth is probably my favorite poet in the English literature. I love his "I Wondered Lonely". The lines where the title of this movie comes from are also impressively beautiful, making the movie as poignant as possible.

Natalie Wood is so convincing as the tormented, love-sick young girl...

      A tearful film

This is a very touching film.

In the beautiful and peaceful American countryside, the beautiful girls Deanie and Bud are deeply in love with each other. Their love carries the enthusiasm and excitement of youth, as well as the helplessness and confusion of youth. However, they were forced to break up due to misunderstandings due to family, social and environmental reasons. Although the boy was sent by his family to a university in another city for further study, he exiled and...

[Film Review] Splendor in the Grass (1961) 8.2/10

Two teenagers falling in love in Kansas 1928, Deanie and Bud (Wood and Beatty) are the ne plus ultra of high school sweethearts, he is a jockey born with a silver spoon, she is as lovely as a storybook princess, both parents are quite content with their pairing, then why, in Kazan's SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS, apart from the fallout of the imminent and fateful Crash of 1929, their lives...

Except the protagonist is good-looking, there is nothing

      1. During the meeting, the speaker mentioned this movie and was curious, so he downloaded it and watched it.

      2. The overall feeling is not very good. It turns out that foreign films are also bad.

      3. The heroine is so beautiful. Only now did I realize that girls with big eyes are so pretty. The male protagonist is very handsome, and although his eyebrows are a little tight, I like his sculptural face.

      4. How did this tragedy come about? I think it's the parents' fault....

It's not bad, when I grow up, I won't think about my previous dreams. Wood's acting is in place. I rarely see this kind of youth film from Hollywood. When I think of those youth films in modern times, I feel that there is something in this movie. Nolan, but it doesn't matter, Wood's short haircut is so...

American tragedy, the eve of the collapse of the family. Bud's older sister, Ginny, disappears in the middle, and she becomes a ghost in the movie, and when Bud and Deanie can only stare at each other with nostalgic emotions, Ginny tells us another possibility. The seeds of rebellion without cause have been...

Rather than depicting sexual repression, it is more about the inhibition of family and environment on people's desires. The whole theme is still very good. The people in small towns in the United States are really conservative to death, very much like the feudal society, and even in the current China, there is more or less a reference. Kazan's control is still effective, the camera feels dangerous and charming, and the characters' emotions are adjusted to a very thematic state, but this method...

"Even if there is no more / To bring back the glory of the grassland / And the glory of the flowers / Let us not be sad / Why should we find the strength deep in our hearts." It fits perfectly with these sentences. A group of young people trapped in the era of the Great Depression were forced to give up their original ideals due to traditional education and the repression of the times. No fear of sadness. If you look at the title of the film, you will know that it will never be a certain...
