      short comment

Roy Anderson has established a more extreme personal style through these three films, not only in the language of the film, but also in the content of the film. The drama has been dissolved, the narrative has disappeared, and there are only fragments that keep repeating the cruelty and sadness of life ("You Are Alive" is an exception; it also became the best of the three in my opinion. ). This way of filming may not reflect a director's control over a grand narrative, but it can indeed...

      A film likes a director

This kind of film actually started to understand a little bit! A film likes a director. Very distinct personal style, fixed camera position, multi-layered composition, pale face, and ubiquitous multi-line progress.

Lots of scenes left a lasting impression:

      1. The scene in that small bar is reminiscent of Edward hopper's nighthawks, cold and alienated.

      2. The magician sawed a living person, and the sawed person said "Hey! Hey!" It really made people laugh.

      3. The fat...

      - "Singing from the Second Floor"

"Those who endure humiliation and bear heavy burdens are lovely; those who wave their hands and watch a movie are lovely; those who have no money are lovely; those who lie on their backs are lovely; those who forget their childhood are...

      just to survive

The film seems to have broken several stories and put them together again, independent and coherent from each other. Under the long shot of the fixed camera, the scenes and characters can be seen carefully arranged by the director. The white-painted faces, slow and weak movements, and fat bodies of the characters all reveal human deformities, as lifeless as the walking dead. People here have no spirit, no religious pursuits, people are indifferent and alienated, and the society is chaotic....

It's not like watching a movie, it's like watching an experimental drama. It's boring to death, but thought...

I feel that the first half is better than the second half. The absurdity that gradually spreads out at the beginning makes people full of expectations for the movie, and the various matching editing is also very cold and humorous, but the director's ability to control did not give a strong end to the last, "Everything has A time-limited "or" sitters are lovely" attitude is hardly convincing. Four stars because I like...

I like the plot, it is the shooting method of this broken scene that made me almost fall asleep... The director also specially made a short short film for the fans in Taipei. It's so...

The signs of all beings at the end of the capitalist civilization have already appeared at the turn of the century, which is almost a portrayal of the present, and those who live in the end times cannot help but feel sad. People followed the flow trying to break free but found themselves trapped, moaning and complaining. Christ was once again crucified, made a commodity, once again abandoned, and he was only talked about in the asylum. Poets are forever silent, and the world does not need or...

    Movie plot

Very ambitious and challenging work, religion, economy, intergenerational relationships, family, love, and various issues have been peculiarly and absurdly distorted, presenting a side that the world often ignores. The statue of Jesus dangling on the cross with one hand like a monkey, the degraded old man spent his 100th birthday in front of a room full of spooky guests, the father who set fire to swindle money, the son who wrote...

    Behind the scenes gags

The story of the film may have to begin to recognize the circumstances that make us powerless, and we ourselves have to be held accountable. I believe that the way of life of Westerners inhibits the development of people's potential. When you watch this film, you should understand how stupid human behavior is. Disorders cannibalize people, and the situation is getting worse.
There is little dialogue and no obvious story line, but black...
